It brings me great pleasure to be able to talk about the Vast Empire today. Each and everyone of you are to be commended for the work you have done. I am very impressed with you all. There are a lot of things that I must talk about that is in addition to the news that I am going to put up on our main website today so read carefully.

1) The New Years resolution that I have made for the Vast Empire is to streamline all of its High Command positions. Eventually there will only be about 4-5 High Command positions. Now this means that some High Command officers may loose their jobs. This is in no way reflective of what you have or have not done for the Vast Empire. It's just that I need to make sure that the Vast Empire experience is a fun one. The reason why we are all here is to play games, not do paperwork. So I am removing the paperwork jobs and I will be pushing it all down on the shoulders of our very capable Squad(ron) Commanders. All High Command officers will be offered squad(ron) commander or member positions of their choice. They will NOT be demoted in rank so keep that in mind if you find a General in your squad, lol. You will still have to address him/her as a superior officer. Awards and Medals are going to be much more important in the days to come since it will be the primary basis on all future promotions. So if you are not competing, making missions, playing games, then start doing so or you might find yourself stagnate in a squad(ron) somewhere. Now I have asked FA Niksavel and HG Sesswanna to take a very close look at their rosters and get back to me asap about the positions that they cannot live without. So expect something final next week (I hope).

2) Division of the Month Award - I have asked CEO Threeof4, HG Sesswanna, and FA Niksavel to send me reports about their divisions concerning this award. In the past the award have always went to the Army. If you want your division to win the 50K of IC's for every member then I recommend you send your monthly reports to your specific divisional commander asap. I will be announcing the winner next week.

3) Division of the Year - VERY BIG PRIZE TO BE GIVEN OUT YET TO BE DETERMINED! Get your yearly reports in asap. Even if you have only been in the VE for a few months get your overall reports in asap for consideration. Please do not make this an indepth report like your monthly report is. I dont have a 10 meg file in my inbox so keep to the high points if you would please.
4) The CGF's Galactic Gaming System is going to be hitting us very soon. I am afraid that we are not yet ready with the exception of a few of us. The main part about competing is just showing up and playing games! I mean isn't this why we all joined a star wars fan club? To play games? So either join us via javachat at http://www.vastempire.com/chat or download mIRC and join us at server: irc.shadowworld.net channel #CGF and #VastEmpire. We have weekly meetings every saturday at 6pm US Eastern time in #CGF.
5) Are some of you complaining about a couple of people being promoted and you not even though you have been in the VE longer than they have been? Well this is how that happens: They show up on our live chat channel and they play games. Very simple way of getting promoted. They also contribute in other ways but playing games and live chatting is the main reason.

Anyway, I want to again reiderate something. If you are a High Command officer and you find yourself next week in or running a squadron then please understand that in no way is the High Council or your divisional leader mad at you. It's just that we need the bult of our excellent officers running and in squadrons. It's time to forget about promotions and concentrate on playing games and having fun.
