Over there in New York they had champaign, a huge ball drop, confetti raining out of the sky, and what all... But none of that beat our Arctic Countdown which included beating on the 7 foot, walrus-hide "Millennium Drum" outside in the snow for two hours with the temp far below zero. Only the toughest brought their own spoon or got a wooden stick to beat on the drum for the countdown, with the inspiring chants of the natives in their ancient rituals, pounding their bundled feet into the snow.
