Field Marshal Threeof4 sat at the head of the conference table quickly going over his notes. Majeres report on the Vast Empires finances was not an impressive one. He was worried that the Vast Empire may go bankrupt before completing their journey. The only thing keeping them afloat was Majere, Threeof4, and Kadanns personal investments elsewhere in the galaxy. Finally everyone sat down and Threeof4 looked up at his staff, Ladies and Gentlemen. Today we finally get to go meet Admiral Palleon so we can go home. We have been through a lot and I am sure all of you would love to start having a life outside of the Vast Empire again. We need to get our factories back up and running so we can pull the Vast Empire out of debt. Since we are so close to the Imperial Empire we should be able to not only pull ourselves out of debt but also possibly work on upgrading our fleet! It will not be easy. From the report I was recently given some pirates have taken an interest in our new home and it looks like we will have to clear them out before settling in. The citizens are demanding Imperial support but since we technically own the systems now the Empire is waiting for us to do it instead. Not only that but Majere just recently returned and one of the systems has a little problem with the force. There is no contact with one of our systems and Majere thinks that it is related to the force. It just so happens that it will be the new Headquarters for our Dark Jedi Order so this should be a good test for them. Majeres will be sending scouts so lets hope there is better news. I only hope those millions of citizens are ok. However, first on our list is to publicly sign the treaty with the Imperial Empire. I want all of you, including your Adjutants to be present in your Class-A uniforms for the after party ceremony. Dark Jedi are NOT to carry their lightsabers with them and I will be depending on Majere and Kadann to enforce that. If I see you wearing one it is a violation of my direct order and I will see you court marshaled. Also, there will be no weapons of any kind during the ceremony. The only weapons that we will have are our force abilities. I hope I made myself very clear. I dont want any screw-ups. During the ceremony, those of you in the Army will wear your stormtroopers armor, and those if you in the Navy will wear your pilots uniforms. The exception to this is Kadann and Majere and our adjutants and they will be in their normal Class-A uniforms for the ceremony and the after party celebration. If I have to suffer in this itchy uniform so do they. Once the treaty is signed the party will start and all of you are to come back to our transport and change into your Class-A uniforms. Now, I hope you are all relaxed and that you had a lot of fun during our brief vacation. Now it is time to put our lives back together and start expanding the Vast Empire throughout the galaxy. Threeof4 smiled and clicked on a button next to him, Lieutenant. Hyperspace to Bastion is approved. You may proceed immediately. Once the lieutenant saluted Threeof4 everyone could feel a slight tug as the mSSD Mustang and the rest of the Vast Empires fleet entered hyperspace. DestinationBastion and the Imperial Empire.

..
Location: Bastion
.

As usual of all Imperial Celebrations the signing of the peace treaty and alliance between the Imperial Empire and the Vast Empire was short and full of glamour. Majere and his Adjutant Sildrin stood behind Threeof4 as he signed the treaty with Admiral Palleon and the many different Moffs from all over the Empire. Afterwards everyone watched a competition between the Imperial Empire and the Vast Empire. The starfighter battle was full of surprises as it looked like the Vast Empire was about to loose badly. However, Lieutenant Space Knight and his Kaph Squadron got off a few skilled shots that ended up with a narrow victory for the Vast Empire. If this were a true battle both sides would have retreated with neither being the victor and this meant that the Vast Empire had a long way to go before it considers itself a viable government. After the show the party began with Threeof4 walking with Palleon to the center of the room to meet new people. The music started playing and the first couple on the dance floor was Majere and Sildrin, soon followed by dozens of other people.

A lone figure walked into the room, followed by a beautiful woman holding two children no more than three months old. The male figure was tall, muscular, and looked as though you wouldn't want to mess with him. Under the man's cloak, one could just barely see a Rear Admiral's rank insignia, with the extra bar for Upper Half. The man removed his hood finally. It was Gui Sun Paan. The young Jedi had finally returned from his journey to defeat Sirrus and Khyron, and finaly become a Dark Jedi Master. Not only had he become a DJM, but also he had been given the job of Deputy Grand Master in addition to his job of Headmaster. Paan looked for Atrus, and found him sitting at the head of the Navy's table.

"Atrus, it is good to see you again." Paan said.

"Indeed, Paan. I would like to congratulate you on your promotions. Well deserved. I think you will make a great leader for us one day."

"Thank you, Atrus."

Three didn't like being led around by his nose, but it was in the Vast Empire's best interests if he did the curtious thing and speak with the Admiral. This man after all was the right hand man of the person rebuilding the Empire.

The walked around the dance floor, and Three noticed all the couples on the floor dancing the night away. It had been a long time since the Vast Empire had had a reason to rejoice.

"Heard you guys had some rough times over the course of the past year." The admiral was trying to start up the conversation between the two.

"It hasn't been pretty, lost some people during all the moves, but that's to be expected. Some people just didn't want to leave our last homes." The Admiral looked at Three with shock.

"You mean you actually let some of them go?" He motioned for them to take a seat at the head table.

Three waited for the Admiral to sit before he sat. "Yes, people don't give their best work when they are forced to do it. It even leads to costly mistakes, and mistakes right now is not what I need to deal with."

"You make an interesting point," said the Admiral, "but you're also losing a great deal of good people."

"Good people that faithfully gave service to the Emperor. How many other people can say that they've done that?"

"True, true." Three looked back out to the dance floor, and shook his head. As much as Sildren and Majere were attatched to each other, they didn't dance like it. At least their having fun.

"So, with you coming under the command of Grand Admiral Thrawn, you'll have access to some of his great facilities, as well as the merchants that serve his fleet." A stout man was seated on the otherside of the Field Marshal.

"Tyr brings up a good point, but not without looking after his own needs first. Tyr is one of the largest suppliers of Bacta that we use." Palleon smiled graciously, but was not happy with the merchants outburst.

Tyr, aparently was oblivious to it. "The Admiral talks about it modestly, we actually increased our profits 400% in the last quarter. It seems that the war has increased the need for our product."

Three smiled, not even bothering to turn his attention to the merchant. "Imagine that." Something had caught his eye. Back in the corner of the room stood a most amazing being. "You'll excuse me gentlemen. There's something that I must take care of."

Palleon caught where the FM's gaze was directed and wished him luck.

-------------------------------------
What will happen, Will Three have the courage to ask this young damsel to dance, or will he back away. And if he does have the courage to ask her, will she accept or will your fearless FM be shot down.

Only time will tell. Stay tuned for the next episode of Chapter 6: A New Home.

As the slow music started to end and fast music began Majere and Sildrin decided it was time to head for their table and sit down for some discussions and perhaps even a bite to eat. Just as Majere and Sildrin walked to the table they noticed Threeof4 get up and head towards a very beautiful Imperial Female Officer. Majere smiled and silently wished Threeof4 luck as he and Sildrin quietly sat down opposite of Admiral Palleon. The Admiral then stood up and gave Sildrin a respectful nod before sitting down once again.

Admiral Palleon was the first to speak to Majere, "So this is the famous Caramon Majere that I have heard about. The man that demoted himself for the glory of the Imperial Empire to promote equal opportunity within a military where equal opportunity normally don't exist." Although the remark sounded rather rude Majere caught it as a compliment instead, "I assure you it was for personal reasons Admiral." It was at that time that the Admiral turned his attention to Sildrin, "So who is the lovely lady?" Majere smiled, "Excuse me for being rude. This is my Adjutant Sildrin Rys Hastur a loyal Imperial Officer for a number of years. She is also my partner in life." Sildrin silently nodded to the Admiral as he responded, "Pleasure to meet you." It was at that time a number of Moffs walked up to Admiral Pallaeon and whispered into his ear, allowing Majere and Sildrin to relax and eat their meal just placed before them.

Three walked slowly over towards the Imperial Officer. "Hey Three." Great just when I had enough courage to go through with this. He turned over to see Atrus sitting at a table. "What are you off to in such a hurry?" Three just glanced in the direction of his goal. "Wow, pretty high expectations you have, don't you?"

"Yes well, we'll have to see how this works out. Right now... I need a conversation starter." He reached out into the center of the table and pulled a flower out of the vase that sat there.

"Good luck." Atrus called out after the Field Marshal. Thanks, I'm gonna need it.

He walked up to the officer, and became self-conscious of his movements when she started to watch him. Finally after what seemed to take hours he got close enough to talk to her. "You'll excuse me, I couldn't let this continue on for very much longer."

"Oh really?" She just smiled.

At least she's still talking to me. "Yes of course. A person of your beauty, without a flower? I must find the cretin that brought you here and have him removed from his duties."

"That could be a difficult thing to do, seeing as how I came here myself." She laughed. Yes, a laugh. I must be doing something right.

"May I?" Three motioned to place the flower on her uniform. She nodded, and he finished pinning the flower in place. "Ahh, much better. Now, would you care to dance?"

"Saying no now would be so cruel and heartless, especially with all that work you just did. I'd be honored." She offered Three her hand, which he took, and led her out into the center of the dance floor.

They stood there for a couple of beats, before they found the beat, and then joined the rest of the people on the floor. "You do know that was the lousiest line I've ever been subjected to?"

"Yes well, it got you out here didn't it?" He smiled, and she nodded. "So tell me, do you have a name, or shall I just refer to you as You for the rest of the night?"

"Marial Tarh'e."

"Beautiful. My name is...".

"Everybody here knows who you are." She smiled, and Three spun her out and then back in.

Though much of the crew was assembling planetside to attend the ceremony and consequent soiree, skeleton crews were still required to operate the fleet of ships that were the armored fist of the Vast Empire Navy.

It was an odd affair. Civilian craft had already taken up every open hold and docking bay in the hopes that they too could attend the event without their ships floating off into space. Other larger craft were tractor beamed or even tethered to star destroyers and smaller craft. It looked as if the navy had conducted laundry day and the ships were hanging out to dry. Not that it mattered much what it looked like. Most people were simply glad to have survived the trip here.

In order to attempt a mood of total involvement, visual feed from the gala were being broadcast onto every viewscreen available. Those located into the common areas were magnets for those who could not make it planetside, both civilian and military.

Though the footage was mostly dry, it was full of moments of pride as their leaders were greeted with respect and admiration by other Imperial leaders. Recognition for their collective efforts was in each hearty handshake, and acknowledgement of the many sacrifices as well.

There was humor as well however. With the air of an athletic match, the crowd got into the unfolding drama of FM Three of 4 as he bounded from politician to admiral to salesman to...what was that look?

Three boys near the front of the Mustang's main lounge saw it first and cried out in appreciation and cat-calls.

A bridge technician on break onboard the Nemesis started the chant that soon echoed throughout the fleet, "GO, GO, GO, GO..."

As Atrus appeared to be commenting some disparauging remarks to the Field Marshal, yells and curses spewed out of the viewers as a frown crossed Three's face. "Damn it, don't let him get to you," yelled a father who stood up in anger - nearly dropping the child on his lap. Others cried "Foul!" Some couldn't watch.

Silence fell over the crowd as he approached his intended "target". Large inhalations of breath were held as the two talked...as Three pinned a flower on the officer's uniform a few crossed their fingers to protect against any pin sticking incidents. Finally a nod, and acceptance of the FM's request.

Cheers rang out amongst the fleet, as the couple went out on the dance floor. You couldn't buy this kind of emotional drama.

As the dance continued, the crowd started looking for other high command personnel who were still alone...wondering if the pairing off would continue.

Atrus nodded to Admiral Palleon as he shook Atrus' hand and gave him a salute of respect. Atrus returned it crisply... Same ol' salute he learned in the academy. Feeling a lot less meaning now than it did back then. Over the past few years, just about everything has lost the meaning it used to hold.

Atrus sat back down after Palleon left. Leaning back with his feet propped up at an empty table. He watched the rest of the couples on the dance floor, moving so very gracefully.

Atrus stared off into the distance at nothing really, remembering the cruel harsh past. He pictured her, standing in the doorway, immanating a glowing light in her pure white silk dress. Her long golden brown hair flowing down over her shoulders. Such a tragedy what happened to the young Kaitlin Iona. That was one of the main reasons Atrus was so secluded and silent around the rest of the universe. Very few people he opened up to.

He started to nod off to the soft slow music. Once he had gotten deep asleep, it happened again. In his memory, so clear... Word for word, feeling for feeling, emotion for emotion. The tragedy that happened on such a festive occasion many years ago. All the images flashed before his eyes, the worst torture possible to go through for any decent human being, happening over and over and over again, everytime he close his eyes. He woke up with a strong jerk and almost knocked the table over, but thankfully no one noticed. He looked down to his hands and saw a little blood from him clenching his fists so hard while asleep. He doesnt even notice physical pain anymore, it's like it's non-existant.

He then looked up into the crowd for some reason and saw a beautiful young lady with jet black hair looking back at him. He didn't know what had made him look up, but it just happened. Their gazes meet for several long moments, as if communicating only through their eyes. Slowly she started walking towards the table. Atrus got up and meet her a few steps before the table. "Hello, Atrus, is it?"

"Yes Atrus it is.... And who might this beautiful angel before my eyes be?"

"Adri'anna Hoshi..."

Atrus took her hand into his and bent down and gently kissed the top of it, "Such a beautiful name... Shall we dance mi'lady?" he asked as he lead her to the edge of the crowd.

They embraced each other and started to dance to the music. Getting to know each other while dancing. It all moved so gracefully, Atrus felt like he was floating in air. He looked past Adri'anna's shoulder and saw Threeof4 a few feet away with his girl. Atrus sent him a telepathic message... "Good going, bro, looks like you're having fun."

Atrus saw a huge grin appear on Three's face, and heard in his mind, "Same to you... Seeya around after the party." Atrus gave a slight nod to Three, then turned his attention back to the slender young woman in his arms, and closes his eyes as they continue to move about the dance floor.

Trigit stood in one corner of the reception room. He was alone, and thankful for it. He had just been made Ambassador and promoted onto the High Council only a week before. His lightstaff was in his quarters, as per orders, and he was not using any of his Force powers, at least not overtly. He watched as Threeof4 danced with the girl, and thought At least Threes found someone to dance with. He was the Ambassador of the Vast Empire, and as such, he should be able to talk with anyone present with relative ease. Just as he thought this, a young Imperial officer walked over to him.

Hello, sir. The officer said. Trigit noticed the insignia on his uniform.

Hello Sergeant, what can I do for you?

Nothing much sir, I just wanted to meet the Vast Empires new Ambassador.

Ahh, in that case, I am Trigit Trigit began.

I know sir, we heard of you from when you were in the Vast Empires Army. It was rumored that your squad never lost a competition that it tried to win. Trigit was amazed that the officer knew about his history in the VEs Army, but he didnt let it show.

Yes, if my memory serves me, that is correct.

You set a very high standard for all of us, I would like to thank you for that.

You are most welcome Sergeant, although it was never my intent, I am not adverse to being used as a motivational tool Trigit replied.

Well sir, I really must get going, I have a shuttle to catch.

Understood, perhaps we shall meet again sometime.

I hope so, I would like you to give me a few tips on managing my squad.

"It would be my honor Sergeant he replied. They saluted each other, and the young officer went off to catch his shuttle. And I thought no one outside the VE even knew my name Trigit thought. Well, I guess Ill go find someone else to talk to he thought. Then he walked off into the crowd in search of Admiral Palleon so that he could properly introduce himself.

Majere quietly sat next to Sildrin as he finished his meal. It was nice being alone with Sildrin. Recent events have made being alone with her very rare. Majere gently pulled Sildrin to him as he watched Atrus and Threeof4 dance with 2 very lovely women. Eventually Majere's glance found Palleon speaking privately with a number of Imperial Moff's. They were going on about something rather important but Majere didn't care enough to eavesdrop. However, what peaked Majere's interest was one of the Moff's was trying to pick up a lady for himself. Majere could tell that she wasn't really interested in him but she didn't want to hurt such a powerful man's feelings. That could definately get her into trouble. As Majere watched this humerous escapade Sildrin startled him with a question "Caramon. What are you looking at?" Majere quickly pointed to the Imperial Moff at which time Sildrin giggled and once again rested against Majere. This humerous event dragged on for another few minutes before the Moff was interrupted and was taken away from his goal. Suddenly Majere jumped when he was startled with a comment from behind him, "Those Moff's can be so annoying at times." Majere laughed as he turned to see Palleon sitting down. Without continuing the conversation Majere asked Palleon a question, "Care for a drink Admiral?" As Palleon watched his glass being filled he nodded his appreciation, "Thank you. I believe I need this right now. I think I am actually looking forward to our meeting after this celebration." Majere ignored Palleon's reply as he turned to kiss Sildrin on the lips.

Threeof4 and Marial spun around the floor, taking moments here and there to ask about things that mattered. They soon tired and went over to sit down and enjoy the meal they were brought. They were soon joined by Atrus and Adri'anna and quiet conversation broke out amongst the two couples. Soon all good things must come to an end, and this was one of those things. An aide quickly and quietly made his way through the room, but both Atrus and Three noticed him right away.

"Excuse me sirs," he saluted, and the two HC members returned it. "I have been sent to bring you to Admiral Palleon."

Three took his napkin, wiped his mouth, and turned to Marial, "You'll excuse me won't you?"

"But of course." She said slipping him a piece of paper, "In case I'm not here when you return," she whispered.

Three pocketed the paper and waited as Atrus took his leave of Adri'anna, and then the two followed the aide to a room just off the side of the party. Waiting for them were the rest of the HC; Kadann, Athran, Trigit, Majere and Sildrin.

"She needs to leave." Three motioned at Sildrin, then turned to give Majere the privacy that Three knew he wanted. Sildrin left out the main door followed by the aide.

Palleon entered before Majere could make a comment about Sildrin's removal. "Greetings gentlemen. Great party huh?" He handed Three a small box, "Your orders," and Palleon left.

Three handed the chest to his Operations Officer, and waited for Majere to remove and give the orders.

Majere was about ready to really rip into Threeof4 when Palleon stepped in and handed Threeof4 our orders. Putting aside Majere's argument for now he turned to Threeof4, "What's this. Why are we being given orders from another government?"

Threeof4 calmly responded, "It isn't really orders. It seems as though the systems that we are being given are part of the Imperial Empire's most heated hotspot. The pirates there are burrowed deep into the soil. They have been able to keep most of the Imperial presence out of the system. The Empire believes that if we are who we say we are then we will take care of this problem for them. In turn they will hand over the systems to us and we will link our economy with them. It should prove to be very profitable for everyone involved."

Finally General's Crysus and Athran entered the room followed by Admiral Atrus and Master Paan. They were all a little upset at being taken away from the celebration but kept the comments within themselves as they knew this was not a pleasure meeting. Threeof4 slowly opened the box and hooked it up to the holoprojector. Two systems came up on the screen as Threeof4 began to speak, "Gentlemen. The Empire has graced us with 4 systems as you all very well know. Two of them are fine, and the other two are having some problems that we need to take care of. The Lotaith System is infested with pirates. They have been very successful at keeping the Imperial Empire out of the system for a very long time. We are going to go in hard and wipe them out. Once we have cleared enough room we will launch our landing parties for the Army. Our goal in space is to capture the platforms in tact. The pirates will be using various starcraft from New Republic, to uglies, to Imperial design. Scouts have reported twelve medium sized capitol ships protecting three platforms. Now as for our other system. The problem there has been no contact at all. We know the pirates is not the problem due to their scouts coming up missing as well. Since I was going to give this system to our Dark Jedi Order anyway I will let Admiral Majere take care of the planning for that. Majere, do you have anything to add?"

Majere was looking at the specs along with the information gathered from the Imperial Intelligence Agency. Without looking up Majere responded, "I have a bad feeling about this. I want all registered Dark Jedi Knights and above with me on this mission. This includes Masters Atrus and Paan."

Threeof4 nodded as he responded, "Ahh that reminds me of my other point. I am glad you made my job easier. I will be directly runing the Lotaith battle. Admiral Palleon will be coming with us and he expects me to personally play hero. Majere's request is granted. I have learned to trust Majere's advice and I am glad that I do not have to go with you guys, yet. Good luck gentlemen. Enjoy the rest of our evening. We start tomorrows adventures bright and early at 4am Bastion time."

Threeof4 quickly gathered his things and handed them to his protocol droid. Everyone quickly left in complete silence with the exception of Majere who sat there in deep thought about tomorrows orders. As soon as everyone left Sildrin walked up to Majere and put her arms around him. Slowly kissing Majere on the neck she whispered into his ear, "What's wrong Caramon?" Majere looked into beautiful face and smiled, "Tomorrow we work, but today we will play." Majere used the force to close and lock the door as he grabbed Sildrin in a warm embrace and passionately kissed her lips.
