SiriusV looked at ExarKun and saw that his arm was bleeding profusely. ExarKun needed medical help FAST. Overhearing Timber relaying his cordinates, he immeediately rushed over and supported both Timber and ExarKun as he was considered quite fresh among all the troopers at the battle scene so far. He removed his water container and gave it to Timber, who grunted with satisfaction and drank some before giving the rest to the blood-drainned ExarKun. SiriusV looked up worriedly. ExarKun is strong physically, but his wounds are rather serious. Suddenly, he sensed a whizz of a blaster shotpast his ear, missing him narrowly. Motioning Timber to stay low and protect ExarKun, SiriusV sprang out of his hiding place, blaster at hand. He shot down the troopers within blasting distance with all his skills he got from all the months of trainning in his squad. Behind him, he hear Timber pulling ExarKun towards rushing Imperial medical aiders to the sled for fast transportation back to the base for bacta treatment. SiriusV breathe with relief. At least ExarKun is out of danger. He scanned around the battlefield littered with bodies with both Vast Empire and the Imperial garb on it.

Timber came up from behind and muttered, ' ExarKun outta danger. Cleared. Wow, this job's messy.'

SiriusV replied, ' War was never fun to begin with.'

Suddenly, Timber yelled, 'DOWN!', and SiriusV ducked just in time to miss a dangerously close canon bolt. He ignited his lightsaber and heard Timber do the same. He glanced behind, nodded at Timber and jumped up, deflecting the canon bolts that were still coming with much feriousity, deflecting back at the squad that were sending the bolts.
Together with Timber, in no time, the machine was just a scrap piece of metal and bodies were like a heap of black mass. SiriusV pulled up his helmet, grinned at Timber and said, 'For a new trooper, your skills at shooting are considered very good. I think you will go far in the Vast Empire'. Timber shook his head in modesty.
Grinning, the 2 tired troopers ran back to join their fellow troopers.

Just before SiriusV and himself went back to the others, Timber ran to were mass amounts of troopers lay, and where Exar had been. He quickly slid the two bags of grenades and blaster recharges over his shoulders, and then grabbed the two blaster rifles. He smirked lightly, even with the grim situation, and ran after SiriusV. He was gritting his teeth under the helmet, his shoulder was killing him and yet he still had a large amount of grenades hanging over it. He didn't want it to slow him down, and so he concentrated to take his mind away from the pain, and just carry on after SiriusV.

Finally they got to the base that Exar had been brought to.(I don't know the name, or what you've designated it, so it's gonna be "Fury's Base" for me ^_^) Timber reached the makeshift medical facilities and slumped against the wall. He slide the grenades and blaster off his aching shoulder and reached for a small thing of water. With his other arm he ripped off his helmet and leaned his head against the wall, and just downed the water. "If someone could get me some bacta, a med-patch, something to put on my shoulder... I'd be glad to get back into the battle."

He just sort of waited his turn, others were hurt more than he was, especially Exar, whom had two of the best 'doctors' working on him now(There ya go X. You can have the outcome whatever you want it). But Timber couldn't help wondering... he felt power from SiriusV, and Timber could learn quite a few things from Sirius' saber manuevers. He shook his head slightly, now wasn't the time. He needed to get something on his shoulder, and get back into the battle. His swoop, the only one he's ridden since being on this rock, was sitting with a bunch of dead troopers. And he wanted that back! But now... he had to wait, wait for a medical touch up, and wait to hear what his orders were... if any.

The armies of the emperor were closing in on the ship, spreading out to surround it on all sides. They had to be stopped before the ship was surrounded. Agent thought it was about time they used their "toys."

Agent pushed a button on his arm. "Talon, detonate number 10 in three... two... one... now!"

The explosion could be heard for miles over the quiet desert sands. Two of the emperor's squads had been taken out completely. A few others were dead, and many injured.

The battle raged on.

[b] The next day ...[b]
SiriusV woke up from his bunk in the Army barracks after a 3 hour sleep, one of the longest they ever had almost since the war with the Emperor's troops started. Suddenly, he heard a movement from his left. It was TJ stiring up. Not long after that, Timber woke from his right, and he noticed with a sense of loneliness and sadness the empty bunk of ExarKun who is obviously still in the medical theatre. ExarKun was a great soldier and leader, and under his and TJ's guidance, the EIH won many battles against enemies. Exar better recover soon. (hint =) ExarK )

After all troopers have woken up and assembled at the general assembly area, TJ came along to address them. The EIH troopers snapped into attention as he approached.

'Greetings EIH troopers, we have been assigned to take out a couple of AT-ATs around 30 cliks from Base. Some AT-ST might be present too, so we will be arming ourselves with blaster canons specially designed to deal with such machinery to attack AT-ST, but for the AT-ATs, I think it has to be done munually for better destruction of the machines. Collect the Blaster Canons from the Arsenal and we will set out in 2 minutes time.'

The EIH rushed to prepare for the day's battle.

[b][i]2 minutes later ...[b][i]
SiriusV, Timber and TJ tramped along the snowy landscape of Vix, backs loaded with equipment required to set up the Blaster Canons. It was not fun and days of fighting without sleep added on to the fatigue. But the EIH still moved forward with much speed and slowly but surely, they gained distance.

After 15 minutes, TJ reported to comlink, 'Base, we are around 4 cliks to destination'. Upon hearing this report, and troopers speeded up and they reached the area faster than thought possible.

TJ motioned the squad to a cliff that let the squad see everything around a mile but manages to keep them unseen by objects as high as AT-ATs. TJ scanned the horizon for suspicious objects for a while, and after a while, he whistled and said, ' Timber, it seems that we are kinda early. That's good. It gives us an advantage to prepare foremost.' To that, he raised his voice and shouted, 'Guys, partner with another trooper and set up a canon positioned like what we discused earlier at Base.' SiriusV looked around, saw Timber and recognised him as the one who saved ExarKun. He smiled and beckoned him over, asking him whether he wanted to partner him. Timber agreed (sorry Timber, I did this to continue this story), and both of them worked fast to set up the cannon.

The EIH waited in silence while TJ scanned the area. Suddenly he shouted, 'Enemy AT-AT in firing distance!'

-----------------------------------
(Anyway, you can continue with this, but I have something for the 'munual job'. You can do it, but I will also be adding to this. =). Once again, sorry Timber =P)

(Hi. I'm a newbie and I cant find my squad so far. So anyway, I hope this story wont be rotten, I am going to try my best, cauz this is my first post!)
------------------------------------------
Solaniel was running with his fellow troopers when suddenly he sensed danger coming from his right and he yelled, 'DUCK EVERYONE!' and dropped just in time to avoid a blaster shot that would have been fatal to him if he didnt duck. He stood up and he started gunning all Imperial troopers belonging to that dratted Emperor with much feriousity as he felt in his spirit. He felled the 7 troopers closest to him when he felt a searing pain on his right arm. He had been shot. He muttered 'Damnit.' and ignoring the pain, he ran forward to take down more troopers who were visably confused and disorganised.

In 5 minutes, he managed to clear all the troopers that he could see. He ran behind a rock and checked his wound. It was rather bad, but it will be able to hold out for a while. He applied some medication to keep the infections away before going back to join his squad.

Stand or Fall

Thus far Fury had been pretty lucky. The two groups on invading troopers that had deigned to follow him were easily dispatched. One group he led through a mine field...he had a map...they did not. The other was a seeming force of nature when the quickly advancing troopers were caught unawares by three worms. His "luck", however, was nothing more than PFC Yillamien following his progress and lighting off a sonic mine at the proper time. He had thus far saved about every member of Squad 3 in this manner and a few from the Barkalounger contingent who had probed into his range.

Luck. however, was in real short supply. Many VE troopers had been injured and killed. And for every huge loss the Emperor's contingent had experienced, the smarter they fought.

In fact, they were becoming downright spartan in use of their heavy vehicles. Only against the Barkalounger zone had there been any AT-AT and AT-ST activity.

Bravo Base was under very heavy attack and was likely to fall. Few of the Raiders missiles had been able to damage equipment in that sector. Currently troopers were attempting to remove mines and forward emplacements in order to overrun the outpost. Fury had ordered the TIE Droids to provide aerial support, but the first heavy use of air-to-air artillery of this campaign had destroyed one fighter and damaged another. PFC DarkLord had returned to the garrison to effect repairs on the wounded craft.

In fact, Fury had spent most of the day visiting his various troops. Jediwannabe had been busy mining and sabotaging most of the rocky areas near the forward positions of the Imperials. This gave them two options: 1) stay on loose ground and be attacked by worms, or 2) march straight into a series of traps that both harm and slow fighting elements down. Thus far, this quandry perplexed the Imperial ground commanders. So, Fury's morning recons either found worms spitting out armor or smoke rising from rougher terrain.

According to the latest numbers, nearly 500 repulsorlift craft were out of commission, nearly half to sixty percent of the heavy walkers, and about 7,000 Imperial troopers were confirmed dead with another 3,000 in some state of wounded condition.

But the noose was tightening. Too many machines, too many people, too much time. The VE entered this campaign with about 500 seriously battered and bruised troopers, many of them in custody at the time. To call their recent success a miracle would be stating things lightly. They had to eliminate the advantages of their opposition.

First, freedom of movement. Destroy the walkers and lift craft and you could pin them down. Second, out-slice their tech staff. Yillamien was putting up a brave front, but the Imperials had control of the majority of the information and flow of same. Third, supplies. Despite three separate artillery attacks, the Raiders had been unsuccessful in destroying the primary supply depot. There had to be another way.

Time was another critical matter. With Bravo under fire, the Barkalounger site under heavy assault, and one large force assembling to take the garrison, the Stormtrooper Corps was in danger of losing it's primary encampments. Without some central control location, they might as well hang it up and be nomads on Vix , if the Empire allowed them to live. If there was a move to make, it had to be tried soon.

Timber sat crouched next to the blaster cannon, SiriusV manning it. Timber raised both his blaster rifles, and trained them on the underbelly of the AT-AT... he had a feeling that troops would pour out of it. A few of the other troopers did the same. Finally, he heared TJ give the order... and the blaster cannons fired. Timber watched as the head of the AT-AT exploded, and it went tumbling down. In the distance, two other AT-AT's could be seen, but that was the last thing on his mind at the moment. On come the troopers, the few that managed to live through the explosion, and plumment. Timber charged forward... playing hero once more.

But he had faith, he blasted all the troopers he could, and what he missed the other VE troopers picked off. Timber crouched behind some of the searing remains of the downed AT-AT. He tried hiding himself well, as white armor was a dead give away on a desert wasteland. Timber jerked his attention back to the troopers as two searing blasts shot from the chin of the oncoming AT-AT. It was horrid, and knocked a few troopers on the ground. He searched... and saw TJ and SiriusV in perfect condition, just a little shook up. The blaster cannons fired, the AT-AT slowed down, but kept coming. And here came the troopers... pouring out. It was looking bad.

The blaster cannons fired again, but SiriusV used his shot to take out a group of the enemy troopers. After the second round of blaster cannon fire, the AT-AT was stopped. And all that was left was the troopers. Timber picked off as many as he could, trying to stop them, but they kept coming, their numbers barely showing depletion. TJ, and SiriusV started picking them off, and the blaster cannons helped in doing so also. Finally, they were down to just a few troopers. SiriusV left his cannon and grabbed his blaster, and between himself, Timber, and a few other troopers, the menace had been stopped... barely.

Timber ripped off his helment, sweat coating his face, and he slumped against the AT-AT. "They just keep coming... more are most likely on their way... this battle has to come to an end..." He shook his head and let the two blaster rifles slump on his shoulders. He popped out the charges, and put in some fresh ones. It was nice to keep those handy. He was ready for more troopers...

(Sorry bout the asinine post, it's late... yeah. That's my excuse for poor writing this evening. Sorry TJ and Sirius if I misused your characters. Trying to continue the story...)

After a litle rest for 4 minutes, the EIH picked up its remaining equipment and set out with a bit more spring in their boots, power chargers in the blaster rifles set and armed with a few thermal detonators.

But they were a bit disheartened as well. They are Elite, they can fight, but they didnt like wars. Wars are fought out of neccessity for survival, not to show some army power.

SiriusV glanced all ways, and saw Timber with his helmet back on, TJ was extra detonators on his back. All their armour were covered with sand, dirt and blood. He looked at his, wiped some all distastefully and flung it onto the brown sand floor, revealing the once shiny armour that SiriusV always make haste to keep clean.

After tramping for 15 minutes, they arrived at a water hole and they quickly refilled their water bottles and drank to their fill. Within minutes, they were on a move again.

Area: 6 cliks from Base. TJ reported to Base, and got a reply that their rader systems have located about 3 AT-ATs coming in their direction, and they are supposed to ake them down. 3 AT-ATs aginst like 5 troopers? SiriusV thought,' Hmmm...they should be an easy catch. Setting up machines, they silently waited for those machines to appear over the horizon.

---3 minutes later...---
TJ was scanning when he spotted three faded objects that could only be AT-ATs appearing on the horizon. He didnt shout anything: the troopers already notived the faint silhousette of the great machines and are already preparing to kick some machine's butt.

Within shooting distance, the troopers imeediately pelted heavy fire on the AT-AT, Timber and SiriusV manning a blaster canon, Timber at the helm this time. Suddenly scanning soem troopers pouring out of a AT-AT from his left, SiriusV deftly picked up his blaster rifle and gunned the enemy troopers down. What wasnt killed immediately was picked off by some other troopers. SiriusV glanced at Timber, who was starting to look a bit tiring gunning the heavy machine.

'Heyya Timber, wanna some relief while I take over your position?

' Sure. I would want some rest. I'll take over your shooting position, ok?

'Np.'

SiriusV and Timber switched positions, and SiriusV manned the machine with will and power, gunning down the useless At-ATs against these weapons. Within minutes, the middle AT-AT fell to its right, and brought the AT-AT on its right with it with a defeaning crash. It exploded along with the cheers of the EIH troopers, who immediately concentrated on the last machine as it struggle to even stay on its feet. Finally, with a last burst of power from the Blaster Cannons and a shot from Timber's blaster rifle brought down the last machine. It never got a chance to fire.

SiriusV removed his helmet, revealing a face coated with sweat. He grinned at Timber, who also just removed his helmet, took a swig of water from his water bottle, and hi-fived Timber.

' We are always the Elites =), and we fight without mercy!'

The odds against the remants of the Vast Empire were slowly shrinking. TJ picked up his ComLink and contacted base again.

"Sir, three AT-ATs just destroyed along with the squads of troopers they held."

"Excellent," Athran replied,"hang on a sec andI'll get you your next target's location."

"Copy that."

Athran looked at the locator, "All right there should be a large rock formation to your left...there are two AT-ATs and four AT-STs on the march about three clicks farther past the rocks. Once they're destroyed, radio and we'll give you guys a break."

TJ shut off his ComLink, "Okay guys follow me," and TJ trotted off toward the rocks......

The men at the Barkalounger were holding out quite well, considering they were outnumbered 8 to 1. The ship's guns, almost destroyed in the VE Civil War, were quite useful in taking out any large machines that came their way, as well as a number of troopers. The VE's men had fought with bravery so far, and were better fighters than anyone could ask for. The tide was actually starting to turn in the VE's favor...for now. The worms had helped more than hurt the men of the VE, who knew how to control them, to an extent. Using the sonic devices, they "herded" them into the opposing armies. All seemed to be going well for the VE.

Exar Kun heard sound, but it was only a rush. He tried to open his eyes, but he saw only a blur. Becouse Exar could not see or hear, he foucesd on his pain, it was his only source of reality.

The pain in Exar's body wasn't a sharp pain, but it was an aching that lingerd. Exar fought with his lungs to take a deep breath, but only choughed. He was only sure of one thing, he was a Jedi. He was Dark Jedi. Again Exar fought to open his eyes. He titled his head up to see the outline of a med droid applying bacta to a rather big hole in his leg.

The droid saw Exar look up and walked over to Exar's head. "You need your rest sir, you are lucky to be alive..." The droid softly said, and with that it switched on an artifical lung that assisted Exar with his breathing. 'lucky to be alive' the words echoed through Exar's mind as he slipped back to unconsciousness.

Down the Hatch

Fury hadn't been inside a man-made construction for over two days. He also hadn't visited a refresher in that time either. The worst thing however, was that he hadn't spoken to anyone. His vocal cords were tight, his eyes dazed from sun, and...well...he was a touch fragrant. But neither sleep, cleanliness, supplies, comradery, nor orders required him to return to the garrison headquarters.

As usual, it was the mission. Sporadic attacks against isolated groups of troopers was gaining time, but losing the overall fight. Despite horrific losses, the Imperial troops marched on. Nearly all heavy machinery, including all but 10 walkers, were engaged in heavy battle near the Barkalounger. Opposition artillery was focused on pounding Bravo Base into dust. And to make matters interesting, a large contingent of troopers, lifts, and artillery were finally making their move on the garrison.

With PFC DarkLord already on-site, all Fury had to do was recall Jediwannabe to assemble a small strike team. Despite Yillamien's best efforts, communications were spotty at the best of times. A three man team was about all that his equipment could handle.

While he waited, Fury did partake of a shower, warm food, uncrumpled cigarras, a nip of whiskey, and a lot of armor and weapons cleaning. Night was coming and soon the opposing probe droids would own the battlefield.

With Jediwannabe's arrival, the team went through their strategy. A blow had to be struck at the invasion headquarters if any resolution to this conflict could be had. With the increase of accurate artillery, the Raiders had pulled much of their heavy weaponry off the battlefield and behind the protective shield of the garrison. Now some of that equipment was about to go on the defensive.

"Alright DarkLord, what do we have for this suicide mission?"

"Well, I wouldn't go that far Sarge, but...." the trooper went through a couple screens on his datapad. "I have the TIE Droids on remote ready to provide air support. Yillamien is ready to jam their comm on our signal. We have sonics ready to clear a path. Besides, we'll all be shielded inside this old Aratech Detention Wagon. There are stun panels and grenade launchers just in case the worms do get close. It can carry forty of the SD-9 droids so we have some firepower to carry with us. That and the tank droids and some motorized artillery pieces will give up a heavy strength platoon. It's not enough, but we should be able to do some damage."

"Question." commented Jediwannabe.

"Go ahead trooper."

"Any chance we an live through this?"

"Wait and see is all I can give you. If the other groups can call attention away from the main base...or if they can quickly capitalize on the chaos, we may be able to get out. Otherwise...." Fury really did not know how to fill out that answer.

"Fair enough. Duty calls I guess. Where did this idea come from anyway?"

Fury looked over at DarkLord. "Yeah, that's one thing I haven't figured out."

DarkLord cocked his head. "Not too sure myself. Yillamien said he received a piece of communication that originated from Exar Kun at some point. Iron Horse was considering use of the worm tunnels but apparently Exar fell in battle and they were out of available Jedi at the time. Yillamien figured that we could do the same thing inside a sealed vehicle so he spent the past two days using sonics to force the worms into creating a fairly straight path. There are a few sections we'll have to burrow through but we should be able to accomplish that easily. Give it a day or so and we should be there. The garrison should hold out that long so we'll be safe from these forces."

"So you say. Best plan I've heard in a couple days. Actually it's the only one. Doesn't mean we won't do it. Gear up and assemble the equipment. Catch a couple hours shut-eye and we'll move out. See you at 0500."

On Rock Formation

SiriusV took a deep breath of the slightly cooler air on top of the Rock Formation. He see beautiful wave patterns created by the winds blowing over the desert floor. It is a bit amazing to actually admire something like whats going to be your battle ground within momments.

He noticed TJ and Timber suck in air from his left, and he knew that they were also breathing the fresh air compared to what they usually breathe on the musty, sandy floor.

The rock gave them a spectacular view, and their view stretched for 2 miles from where they are. But TJ hitched up his packbag higheronto his back, and motioned everyone to stride on. Everyone reluctantly left what was their short momment of reverie.

2 and a half cliks drom starting point

TJ pulled out his ComLink again. He wiped some dust and sand off its face, activated it, and spoke into it.

'Athran, TJ here. We are around 1/2 a clik from destination. Is Enemy still at location?'

The Comlinks buzzed a bit, and Athran's voice came clearly over the buzz.

'Checking Coordinates. Hold on...'

The Comlink buzzed again.

'TJ. Enemy moved 1 clik to your current position. Head there immediately.'

'Take that.'

TJ deactivated his Comlink, and the EIH strided faster to their intended location.

Daishi looked out over the battle feild and he knew his particular brand of monkey warfare was working. What was obviously an Officer's speeder filled the massive scope on Daishi's Timbique Edition Zues.

A squeze of the trigger spewed out massive amounts of lead with no muzzle flash and neglagible report. The slugs quickly ate threw the armor and the repulsor lift went out spewing the vehicale over several kilometers of desert.

As Daishi predicted several other speeders of varrying types arrived on the sceen including an AT-AT for support. With a flick of his thumb a nearby warhead launcher fired it's ion pulse warhead which would keep the AT-AT inoperative for about thirty seconds. Another flick of his wrist sent off a modified concusion missle, instead of carrying explosive it had a proximity fuse linked to a payload of super flammable liquid that would burn as hot as a sun for thirty seconds over an aera of 30 meters, which the now exposed troops occupied.

With a grin of satisfaction Daishi knew he just captured some major equipment and supplies. All he had to do was ride his grapple rod to finish off those who stayed inside the AT-AT.

UNITED

Cosmic stared over the dune and saw twenty oncoming troopers.
He pulled out his Sniper Rifle and stared through the scope.
BANG...BANG...BAGN...BANG.
His artificial finger was very fast on the trigger. Four troopers went down, screaming as they fell.
Cosmic turned to Zsinj who was firing blades at the oncoming rage of troopers.

Cosmic smiled as he watched Zsinj pull the trigger.
He kept on firing, without losing hope.

After about thirty more shots, Cosmic peered over the dune and saw sand whirling in the wind.

"I think they've gone." Said Zsinj.
Cosmic shook his head and pointed towards the whirling sand.
"Look...." Said Cosmic, still pointing.

Across the whirlwind of sand, two hundred Stormtroopers with Rifles were running fullspeed towards Cosmic and Zsinj.
Cosmic quickly jumped up and ran towards the lookout tower, pulling Zsinj as he ran.
"What the heck are ya doin' Cosmic?" Screamed Zsinj.
"Saving out butts! Run towards the tower! I've got a plan!"

Zsinj and Cosmic ran up the ladder and towards the tower.
Zsinj watched in horror as the approaching army ran towards them.

"Ok, when I say, pull your trigger as fast as you can and aim at them like a mad man. I've got an idea with these granade launchers that I brought." Said Cosmic, holding up a sack of granades and a launcher in his hand.

Zsinj fired like crazy and troopers fell.
Cosmic filled the launcher to the top and fired.
Huge blasts of sand rose up like a wave of water, smashiing against the troopers.

Troopers flew in the air as they got hit by the granades.

"That'll keep em busy!" Yelled Cosmic.
Zsinj was laughing as he fired frantically.
"You bet it would!"

Cosmic kept on firing as the troopers decreased in number.

"How much do you think are there now, Cosmic?" Asked Zsinj.
"Oh, I think about thirty, we really wiped em out good."
Zsinj nodded in agreement.

"Ok, fire all you've got on the remaining troopers." Ordered Cosmic. Zsinj nodded and fired at will.

Cosmic fired on more blast and saw that there were no more troopers in site.
"Good work, Zsinj." Said Cosmic, patting Zsinj on the back.

Cosmic picked up his portable intercomm and signalled Base.
"Private First Class Cosmic reporting in. Over." Said Cosmic.
"Roger, Private. What's your status?" Replied a voice.
"We've destroyed about two hundred twenty troops. Were running low on ammo and need more supplies. The imperials know where we are now so we don't have much time. Over."
"Roger that, Private. We'll deliver some supplies right away. Unfortunetly, we've got ourselves a war here too."

Agent couldn't take it anymore. He charged at the huge army with all the ferocity he had ever had. Taking out everything in his path, he felt a blaster bolt hit him in the shoulder. He suddenly snapped back into reality. He dropped his weapon and ran like a bat out of hell. The other troops were impressed. Agent had taken out more enemy troopers than a raging bull could ever have hoped for. He looked back, and was happy with this sight. Just then, he felt another blaster bolt hit him in the ankle. He fell onto the hard, dry ground until he was rescued by a small group of brave troopers, and brought back to the ship.

Tunnel Rats

Fury pulled off his helmet long enough to change the filters in it and catch a breather.

It was a risk to pop out of the Detention Wagon, but the air was getting pretty fetid in there, enough to overload Imperial-issue filtration systems. Naturally, the SD-9 droids didn't much complain; which was why they got to dig the access tunnels and trace the comm cable leads that the squad spiked through the surface every fifteen klicks - just in case some friendlies were out there transmitting.

Currently they were some seven klicks outside the perimeter of the invasion forces command post. Three small groups of droids had gone forth and began planting charges underneath the core of the base. This was likely to continue through the night. The three humans involved in this mission were taking the time to catch up on information, food, and sleep. Basically, Jediwannabe was heating some rations, DarkLord was dozing after establishing security, and Fury was having a smoke and checking his BAC and any hits on the comm spikes.

A couple of updates from Yillamien, some scattered chatter from the Elite and others at the Barkalounger...a mixed bag there, and a repeating communique from Bravo Base. No information had come out of there since the invasion force started their artillery campaign. It was an old code on a low-powered signal, but not one likely intercepted by the Imperials. Fury chose to take a chance. Besides, Yillamien would bounce the signal off of fifteen different repeater stations if he knew his trooper.

As a temporary squad leader in a battlefield environment, Fury had some leverage in "advising" officers of where their efforts would best be served. What Fury needed to know is who was he talking to and what their situation was. Beyond that, the ability to hang on to the Stormtrooper Corps primary base of operations was yet in question. If the Raiders' efforts could relieve the pressure long enough, command could unleash some heavy weaponry and the fairly fresh units that were once held in reserve to end the now-aborted civil war. He sent a burst transmission and waited for results.

Forty minutes and some truly heinous rations later (good thing the light was poor in these caves), Fury's comm unit beeped. Quickly he picked it up. "SGT Fury."

"Sergeant? Man, what is left out there? Never mind. This is Colonel Sexton at Bravo. We are pretty much penned in here. Lots of troopers, relatively. Lots of ground equipment, a few AT-class vehicles. What we don't have are any staging areas or any artillery to get some relief here. We could help you out if only we could get a break."

"Well sir, I'm going to try to keep this quick as we are in position to strike a blow at the invasion force. Hopefully this will keep the heat off of you and allow for some of that sorely needed support you have there. Just stand by and wait for our signal. Actually you'll probably get it better from opposition channels if we do our jobs right. I am currently passing along the location of our garrison, our comm contact PFC Yillamien, and whatever garbled info we have on the other primary position we have. Do what you need to do Colonel. We'll help you out in any way we can provided we get through this mission. Any current orders?"

"Yeah, stay alive. I just got your file, sergeant. Seems your actual squad leader is out of med ward and is itching to get back into action. Anything he can do to assist?"

"Sure thing, sir. Send him our regards. I will also pass along a status report and if he wants, the garrison could use a little more human presence. It is currently an automated setup with only 2LT Roach manning the comm and shield controls. He's a bit injured but still able to run a whole base at the moment. I really am out of time here if I don't want to be discovered. If you would, please pass along a few file sockets so I can pipe you all the relevant info we have. Give me about...thiry hours and we'll try to give your position some relief. May the force be with you sir."

"You too soldier. Passing along those portals and key codes now. We'll await your transmission. Sexton out."

Fury combined his datacards and piped a message to Yillamien to use a portal for his needs. He then burst-transmitted a largely unorganized but thorough report of the Raiders' assets and position as well as a sketchy view of the Barkalounger encampment. That done, it was his turn to sleep. Once the charges were in place, it would be time to position the artillery pieces, tanks, and battle droids...and that was just a lot more brainpower than a weary sergeant and two equally burned-out PFCs had at the moment.
