"Oh crap" I muttered to myself realizing that the Royal Barkalounger was still on Varneck, or at least better be or I'd have to ring Threeof4's neck.
My leg is healing quite nicely but still sends occasional bursts of pain through out my body despite the pain killers.
I managed to get a few data pads to do my work on while I was still incapacitated by the injuries that that sith inflicted upon me.
At least I still have a lightsber trophy. For once I was in the infirmary instead of Threeof4. How odd.

With my leg now fully healed and my duties taken care of for a while I needed to get back to Varneck to claim my ship. The hard part is finding someone who can take me there that I can trust, the last smugglers were not so trust worthy.
Well there is one person who I know that I can trust that'll be making a supply stop at PLT Despot. Jassom Colpman. He isn't a smuggler and we've known each other since our acadamy days. He'll help me get the Royal Barkalounger back.

After waiting the two days before Jassom made his ussual supply stop. I had managed to stop him from unloading long enough to make my request.
"Jassom, I need a favor."
"Sure, I still owe you a couple from Greneth."
"I need you to take me back to Varneck so I can pick up the Royal Barkalounger. I left it there as part of a decoy manuever that failed."
"Sure I'll help you Robert."
The thud klank my boots made against the boarding ramp of his ship told me that I was starting to become too acustum to standard gravity.
The hyperspace trip was three days by the engines and precausions Jassom used.
The early signs of winter were appearant even from orbit on Varneck. The winds had started clearing the clouds from the north pole and would soon start their ussual procession farther south that would bring blizzards and hurricanes. This also meant I am going to have to make do for a while on the supplies I am getting from this trip as the weather conditions would prevent the reasonably safe operation of any craft on the surface.
On most other worlds snow and wind are not that much of a problem, but combined with the magnetic effects and the electrical effects of the storms on Varneck, it would be like flying straight through an ion cannon barrage.
The decent was unnussually calm for this time of the year. I knew I had to hurry if I didn't want to get stranded on my own homeworld.
It is a simple matter of retreiving the Royal barkalounger now that I am on surface.
The speeder I used to get to the star port was still there and I easily packed all the supplies from Jassom's freighter, which were meant for me anyway, on to it.
"Thank you Jassom, you owe me one less and at this rate I'll owe you one."
"You better get going while this break in the weather lasts."
"Right."
The speeder was a little shaky starting due to the increasing cold but started anyway. My next task was simple. Find the people who double crossed me and make them pay.

Well it doesn't help that I have a huge case of mission designer's block. Other wise I'd probably finish Niksavel's historical campaign.

After several weeks of investigating I had found the smugglers that had double crossed me. They were hiding in the Greneth System, on the capital city of the fourth world to be exact.

The Royal Barkalounger was ready for action again after the hole in the ramp had been fixed. With my ussual charm it should not be too hard to convince the Flight Officer to allow me to leave again.

The comm on my belt clicked to life and Threeof4 was at the other end.

"What do you need Threeof4?"

"I need you to check out the power converters on deck four asap."

"Roger that."

So much for my flight. Oh well toying around with power converters was always fun.

There were a lot more power converters on deck four then I remember in the scimatics. Must be a recent modification then.

The power converters were all working fine but I found loose connections on two of them, that was easy enough to fix.

Now back to my ship and my quest.

Once again my com clicked to life. This time it was Niksavel.

"What can I do for you sir?"

"I need an update on those simulator missions you are working on."

"I have acheived over 50% completion and should be finished soon."

"Good." Niksavel said as my com clicked off.

Maybe, just maybe I can finnally get ready to leave.

With the trail cold beyond tracking I knew I wouldn't be able to catch the smugglers anytime soon. So back to my work.

Simulator programing was the highlight of my days as technical support. At least it beat the maitenance I had to do.

Another day goes by and I inch closer to payday.
