After a few negotiations with the Three of 4 I managed to convince him to allow an unscheduled freighter bearing cargo for me.
"Freighter Qc-999 you are cleared to land and deliever your cargo at docking pad C." I had checked and this pad was best for what I needed.
"Roger that Mr. Lee, long time no see, we'll have to get together while we're both in the same place at the same time." Came a familliar voice over the com channel.
"Ace is that you?" My question came out with a bit of excitement, I must remember control at all times.
"Wait and see." The voice was familliar, this is driving me nuts that I can't place it.
After the few minutes required for maneuvering and docking I was standing face to face with Jan Colpman, sister of Flight 3 leader Jolm "Ace" Colpman. I knew it, it was Ace. Appearantly he's still trying to hook me up with his sister.
"Where is your brother, we need to have a few words."
"He's in the cargo bay unloading your supplies." She always managed to get me to forget to hurt her brother. How does she do it?

It took me a minute to pick Ace out of the miriad of workers he had unloading cargo for my new ship.
"Ace, thank your sister for her annoying gift to make me forget to hurt you."
"No prob Bob." Ace's feindish smile and use of the name Bob instead of Robert was enough to warrant a severe chewing out.
"Ace, my name is Robert Lee, and I'm your superior and you will show some respect, but you will also keep this to yourself because the people around here only know me as Daishi."
I barely kept myself from taking his head because no one else would make the neccessary supply runs for me.
The next step in my life would be simple enough, fullfill some obligations as Varneck Planetary Defense Force Extradition Unit and Military Police.
Due to my earlier run in with the cloaked men trying to take Three of 4 I decided I need to do some traking and since the material I found can have only come from one system in the area of space. That area also happened to fall under my juristiction, but it is not Varneck. The system was barely charted and utilized a lot by smuggelers and pirates. It is the Greneth system also in the unexplored territories.
"Ace, when you are done get the rest of the PDF ready to rumble, I suspect trouble in our area of space."
"Yes sir." At least his reply was improved over the last one.

At least Three gave me a week off allowing me to fullfill my duties. I imediatly set the Royal Barkalounger for lift off after she was refueled and resupplied.
The Greneth system was a haeven for all sorts of smugglers and pirates. This gave the VPDF EU/MP an excuse to go in there. After a few minutes of haggeling with the Flight Officer about my departure and lack of proper notification I managed to get under way.
After about two days in hyper space I came to the Greneth System. I expected trouble but found no smuggelers or pirates to oppose a military law man. This was way too odd.
All my scopes were negative and nothing appeared on my vissual scaning.
To be safe I activated the Royal Barkalounger's stealth package and set the turrets from charge mode to armed mode.
Whoever attacked the PLT must have some pretty powerfull conections to scare all the smuggelers and pirates out of here let alone destroy them. Either option was not pleasant to think about.
I decided to manuever so that I could scan the current shadow of the planet and release a remote sensor so that I may moniter if anyone is trying to hide from me. Sensor away.
It seems quiet out here without the pirates, the smuggelers where okay, they helped insure prices of comodity goods never went up too high on Varneck.
CONTACT!
Three ISD's and an Escort carrier confirmed and several other contacts on passive sensors alone!
Thank goodness for this stealth package but this is still not a good place to be.
I started the hyper calculations when I heard a fizzle. Then I realized I forgot to divert power to the stealth system. Now this will be interesting.
A few dozen T/I's were already after me and I had two minutes untill I reached the hyper point. I had to think fast to get out of this alive. At the very least uncaptured.

I realized the only way out was to some how bluff them long enough to get out of weapons range of those tie's. They were at 6 kilometers and closing slowly, but because the Royal Barkalounger is now a YT-2000 transport they could lock on with warheads at this range.
Scanning the frequencies was of little use, they seemed to be communicating through laser-pulse which could only be decoadeded if you were in the line of sight of the transmission. I decided to throw everything to the engines, that would most certainly give me enough speed to get to the hyper point before they could blast me.
To cover my traks I jettisoned a new Varneck counter meassure called a haywire pod which would make it impossible for them to trak the trajectory of my jump and scramble all electronic devices on those tie's temporarily.
After emmerging from hyperspace near the Devastator I was immediatly hailed, this proved I was dealing with a non-alligned imeprial faction.
"This is the modified YT-2000 transport Royal Barkalounger under command of technician second class Daishi requesting permission to land and refuel."
"ID confirmed you are cleared to land."
