Cosmic watched as the creatures tried to contain the emitting carbonite. They Beings have not yet seen the location of the squad....good.

Cosmic turned to Jedi.
"Jedi, listen, I know that the Corvette is sealed shut and that the Moff is perfectly safe in there, but our main objective is rescuing and protecting the Moff. I want at least one person over there. Please do it. You shouldn't have any trouble opening the door, I have put a safty lock on there, here is the code." Said Cosmic, giving Jedi the code.

Jedi nodded and quickly headed towards the tunnel that they had entered into the Beings base with. Cosmic watched as Jedi disappeared, with his stormtrooper rifle, from site.

Cosmic then turned to the Beings. Some beings stared at each other, then the other being would go do something.

"Telepathic." Said Cosmic.
"What?" Asked Snake.
"These Beings are telepathic. Being able to understand each other by channeled brainwaves that no ordinary creature could apprehend."
Snake nodded.
"Anyway, back to business here. We have to wait until we see Raz coming back from the vault."
"Do you think he might find a different way out?"
Cosmic shrugged.
"Hard to say. I doubt it though. He'd have to contact us but there would be no way. His armor is off and there is no way of communicating. He'd have to come back the way he came."
Snake had his gun at bay.
The mechanics were starting to get jumpy.

"Can we trust those guys?" Asked Kyp, who had krept up next to Cosmic.
"They have repaired out engine without any problem. I have trust in them, not full trust, just trust. It will be pretty hard to trust anyone who has been in the New Imperium."
Kyp nodded.
"What are we going to do now?" Asked Epic.
"We have to keep making distractions while Raz finds Montys. So far, this carbonite leak is giving them a hard time."
Epic nodded.
"Sir," began Snake. "We have seen many species being carried around by the Beings themselves, do you think that any of them had sent a distress signal or some log sent back to their homeplanet?"
Cosmic shrugged.
"Hard to say. There are many scenarios that they might've had. They could've sent it, they might not have because of a heavy onslaught. The people before us might not have been as technologically advanced as we are. Or didn't have the firepower we do."
Epic nodded.
"For now, we have to sit back and enjoy the ride." Said Cosmic...just waiting for Raz to walk out with Montys from the Vault.

Cosmic looked around, directly above them was a camera like device. Cosmic tapped Snake on the shoulder and pointed up.
Snake looked up and saw the device.
"Looks like a NI survalance system." Said Snake.
Cosmic looked at it closer.
"The NI got here first...heh. Wonder why no one came back to help them if they sent a distress signal....IF they sent one. If they had the chance."
Snake turned to Cosmic.
"What are you thinking?"
"If we can tap into that camera, we could see any place else that also has a security camera. It's a good thing these camera's can't tilt down ninty degrees. Heh."
Snake looked around.
"There isn't anything here that would....wait."
Something caught Snake's eye....almost practically behind a crate...a small crate. He moved the little crate aside and looked at some kind of control panel door. He took off the door and looked at a whole bunch of wires.
Snake motioned Cosmic to look.
"I wonder what these are for." Said Snake.
"Should I cut them?"
Cosmic thought for a second.
"I don't think so. For one thing, if you cut them, it will probably make something lose power. BUT, they would then come and fix it. They'd find us."
Snake nodded.
"But let's take a look here...see what KIND of control panel this is."
Cosmic looked and found out that it was a power source of some kind. Controlling something...

"It's a power source." Said Cosmic.
"But to what?" Asked Snake.
Cosmic shrugged. I have to look a little deeper. Cosmic kept staring at the control panel, trying to find out what this thing was...

Jedi was just a hundred feet away from the ship. He looked around, his rifle in hand...when he saw that the coast was clear, he kept moving.

When he got to the sealed door, he brought out the entrance code. Jedi punched in the code to the safty lock that Cosmic had put before leaving. He opened the door, which opened with pretty good ease.
Jedi walked in, cool air greeted him as he closed the door. He walked to the Bridge and looked around, but couldn't find the Moff!

The Moff took a peek from behind the consol he was hiding behind. He saw that it was one of the Raiders so he said, "I'm here!"

Jedi quickly turned around and saw the Moff slowly rise to his feet.
"You ok sir?" Asked Jedi.
The Moff nodded.
"I'm fine. When I heard the door open I took cover. Thank God it was you."
"Heh, well I'm here by orders from Cosmic to protect you guys until they get back. In the meantime, I can see if the weapons are working. See if they're online."

Jedi walked to a consol and checked the weapons systems and nodded.
"Yep online. Shields are online too. Just on standby. The engines have just a little bit more damage, but the mechanics said that they could fix it within ten minutes. No biggie."
"Then we can leave this place." Said the Moff.
Jedi chuckled...but then signed.
"Yeah...finally get back to the base! heh."

Raziel stared around the huge vault. Beings were in stasis cells all over the walls in this thing.
Raz walked forward, all the Beings were gone to help the carbonite containment...but two remained in the vault. Tending to the newer victoms. Raz got ducked down and started walking slowly so that he wouldn't be seen.
He peeked up and saw a white armored leg.
Montys! Raz looked around for any knife that might be handy. He didn't see one so he took one out from his belt. He held it poised, ready to strike.
One of the Beings was working on Montys and the other was working on another species....it was a Wookie. The Being was disecting it! The other Being had some kind of scalpal and was about to open Montys up.
Raz quickly jumped up and stabbed the Being into it's chest, where the heart was. The Being quickly turned to the other Being who had sensed it's telepathy. He quickly lounged at Raz, it's claws out, ready to erode him, slash at him....kill him.
The other Being dropped dead in front of him. Raz quickly dropped down to the ground and waited until the Being was directly above him in a leap. As soon as he was, Raz lounged up and stabbed it in the heart. The Being went limp and fell to the ground with a plop.
Raz quickly got up and ran to Montys, who was strapped down. He was unconcious. Raz started tapping him on the cheek with his hand, trying to wake him....then...Yes! He was reviving!
Raz looked at him as he opened his eyes.

"Wha-what happened?"
"You were kidnapped by the Beings. They were going to disect you. I got here just in time. Come with me, can you walk?"
Montys sat up then got onto the ground..he started walking a little bit...then jumping.
"Yeah, I'm back to normal, just had to wake up a bit."
"Good, Cos and the rest of the squad are trying to make diversions while I saved you. We have to hurry and get back though so we can just get the heck outta here!"
Montys nodded and slowly snuck out of the vault with Kyp....only 10 more feet to the vault......yes! They were out! They then snuck and hid behind some crates...Raz then tried to signal Cosmic that he was out.

"Aaah crap."
"What is it now."
"They Gammoreans are starting to hack at the door. I have to blow them before they make a permanent hole."
Jedi aimed the laser at the Gammoreans and fired.
The laser blast emitted from the laser turret. The sound of a tie fighters laser leaving it was the exact sound of when the laser left the turret. The laser hit the Gammoreans, making them tumble to the ground, for the ones that were hit, they were dead, which were three. The two remaining Gammoreans ran towards the laser turret and hacked at it. An explosion sent them flying ten feet away from the ship.

"They've destroyed the starboard laser turret. We have another laser turret on the starboard side but I can't get the right angle on it. I have to go out there and kill them myself."
The Moff stared at Jedi as he gathered his two knives and a stormtrooper rifle.

"I'll be back."
The Moff nodded.
Jedi walked to the main door, he saw a ton of dents in it, but no punture. He gave a sigh of relieft then opened the door.
He jumped out and quickly aimed his gun. The Gammoreans turned and looked at him.
"I-I come in peace."
One of them cocked its head.
"You are strangers in this land. You have ruined the ground of this earth, you will be destroyed." Said the other Gammorean in the most earth-loving way. Then all his voice changed immediately into a teasing kind of voice: "Plus we need the spair parts."
"You will not go onboard this ship while I stand my ground.
"You ever seen an ax in action boy?"
Jedi snickered.
"How can you speak Basic anyway?"
"Why shouldn't we learn something as basic as Basic! We have the right!"
"What gives you the right to hack down our ship!?"
"We are Gammoreans! We are warriors! We thirst for combat! We live to fight!"
"More like you live to die." Responded Jedi.
"You're mocking answers will seal your death warrant."
"Listen, it's either you die now, or I let you leave in peace...while you can."
"Is that a threat!?"
"You bet your a** it is..."
"Then I, commanding leader of my sort-of-dead group pronounce war on you and your hopeless Human comrades!"
Jedi shook his head.
"Do you even know what you're saying? I thought Gammoreans grunted and hardly spoke...heh, caught me by surprise you did."
"Well, we'll see how surprised you'll be when all of your limbs are chopped off!"
The Gammoreans ran towards Jedi, both their axes held in a combat poise, ready to strike down right through the middle and horizontally.
Jedi raised his rifle and fired at one of the Gammoreans' face." He stopped dead in his tracks and dropped his ax, and placing his hands on his face, yelling at the top of his lungs. Jedi then fired at the other Gammoreans face. The Gammorean quickly rickashaded the incoming laser blast with his ax.
"You missed." Said the low-voiced Gammorean.
"Heh."
Jedi quickly ran up to the Gammorean and punched in him the face...the Gammoreans head jerked to the side then immediately went back into its position.
Jedi then fired at its belly...the Gammorean bent forward, in pain. Jedi then shot him in the head.
The Gammorean quickly fell to the ground...Jedi casually got out his knife and quickly killed both Gammoreans. He wiped the blood off with one of their clothes then placed it back into its sheath.
Jedi then walked back to the door, took one look at the dents before closing it and then closed it and walked back to the Moff.

Cosmic spotted another batch of carbonite containers. Suddenly, Snake spoke up, "Look!"
Cosmic redirected his view to where Snake was pointing.
Raz and Montys!
Cosmic quickly nodded and waved them over.
Raz nodded then pointed to the Beings.
Cosmic got out his knife and held it at a certain position in the light, he then twisted his wrist, making the light flicker on and off...sending Raziel a morse-coded message: W E W I L L C O V E R Y O U
Raz nodded and Cosmic put the knife back into it's sheat.
Cosmic then turned to the squad.
"Ok guys, Raz is going to come runnin' here with Montys. We have to cover him just in case the Beings see them. All ready?"
The squad nodded and got their guns ready.

As Cosmic turned to face Raz and the Beings, he heard the mechanics quietly speak among themselves...

Cosmic gave the signal to go. Raz nodded and quickly ran with Montys to the crates. One of the Beings saw them run and immediately alerted the others. Ten of them started to make a pursuit. Cosmic knudged Snake.
"Ok squad! Let's show 'em what we've got! FIRE AT WILL!"
The squad fired and so did the mechanics.
The Beings were getting hit in several different places: Head, stomach, and claws.
The Beings moaned but still kept coming...more and more....Snake got out his knife just to be on the safe side.
Cosmic fired speedy bursts of lasers at the incoming creatures.
The Beings were falling like flies now.
"We won't hold out much longer just by staying here sir! We must retreat!" Said Kyp.
Epic nodded.
"Yes sir! There are too many of them! We can't fight them all!"
"I don't intend to! Everyone duck!"
The whole squad ducked. Cosmic quickly took out a thermal detonator that he had found on the corvette and activated it...he through it at the crowds of Beings...

It rolled on the floor, getting closer to the Beings. The Beings themselves stopped their attack and what they were doing and stared at the bomb....after a few seconds, they realized what it was....but it was too late...
The thermal detonator blew and Beings flew everywhere....and parts of Beings. The explosion also made the remaining carbonite cantainers to exploded...more carbonite was escaping...some of the heavily wounded Beings were in the way of the carbonite and started to freeze dead in their spot.
Cosmic got up and cheered as he saw hundreds of the Beings lying on the floor.
The squad got up and cheered at their victory.
"Yahoooooo!" Yelled Kyp.
"WAAAAAAAAAHOOOOOOOOOOO!" Yelled Epic.
"ALL RIGHT COS!" Yelled Raz, and Montys just started laughing.
Snake chuckled along with Cosmic.
"Good job sir."
"Thanks. Although I know that that's not all of them...just in this room anyway....we must quickly seal the remaining opened doors! Come on squad! Let's go! Raziel, Epic, and Montys, you guys seal any of the remaining doors to this place before the other Beings start to come. You mechanics, gather all the supplies you can find from this place for our return home. I know all of us are tired right now, we could use some sleep as well. Snake and I will head back into the Vault to see if there are, if any, survivors left. Let's move it people!"

Montys and Raz and Kyp took seperate doors. They looked around and saw that they were like ten doors all around the dome, all wide open. Montys took one door, Raz took another, and Kyp took his own. Therefore the closing of doors would go much faster.

Snake started wideeyed at the stasis cells.
Cosmic put a hand on his shoulder.
"Keep your stomach in place."
Snake nodded.
Cosmic walked over to a table with a Human strapped onto it. He was unconcious.
"Help me help this person...unlock the locks here." Said Cosmic.
Snake started punching buttons in the consol right near the strapped metal disecting desk, the straps rolled off.
"Good job."
"Thanks."
"Now, lets see if we can wake him up."
Cosmic started light-slapping his cheeks.
The man moaned a little, then started to make slow rotations of his head...making his head slowly go side to side.
"You ok buddy?" Asked Snake.
The man opened his eyes and looked up...he looked at both of them in fright.
"No need to be scared of us, were here to help." Said Cosmic.
The man started to calm down a bit but he was still a little jumpy.
"What's your name?" Asked Snake.
The man opened his mouth to respond...."Droen." He said in almost a whisper.
"Well, Droen, you will be safe from now on. Were heading back to our base and you are welcome to get some rest there."
The man nodded and slowly get up.
"Can you help us help more people?" Asked Snake.
The man nodded....fully alert now.
"Yes. Those creatures haven't done anything to me yet. But I've been here for about ten years, I was held in a stasis cell until they wanted to disect me."
"Why is that? I thought they would disect right away."
"That's something that I would not know. These creatures are a strange race. You don't know what they're thinking, or saying."
"Or what they want to do with us." Said Cosmic, adding on.
"Well, there are no Beings...um, that's what we call them, Beings. Anyway, there are no more Beings in this room and in that through that door. I through a thermal detonator I found on our ship and that made a big enough blast to destroy all the creatures huddled around each other, trying to fix a carbonite leak."
The man nodded.
"Anyway, lets go." Said Cosmic. Both men nodded and started to head towards different tables to see if there was anyone else undisected.
"We would have to deactive the stasis cells to free them." Said Cosmic.
The man paused.
"You can't just wake them up right away. They require time to actually come back to life after they've been asleep for who knows how long."
"So what can we do?" Asked Snake.
"There are two lights near each stasis cell. If it's green, you can free them, if it's red, you can't."
Snake and Cosmic nodded.
"Then let's get to it."
"There are not too many greens though..." Said Droen.
"We'll do our best then. Let's go."
All men nodded and began their quest to free the remaining people.

Cosmic and Snake walked out of the Vault with twenty other people. Droen was in the back of the bunch, explaining to them what had happened.
Snake turned to Cosmic.
"Lots of people. Extra load for the corvette."
"Shouldn't be problem, if fact, this is a pretty good deed. I'm sure these people are very thankful."
Snake nodded.
"Yes sir."
They walked out into the dome room. The people oohed and awwed at the lights from the dome roof and the room itself...even though it was kind of a mess with Beings lying on the floor, they were very happy to be out of the stasis cells.

Raziel and the bunch walked over to Cosmic.
"All doors are shut sir and are very locked."
Cosmic nodded.
"We also found a little map of the entire place. Must be the Beings had to find their way around a bit." Said Kyp, giving Cosmic the map.
"Apparently they have a reactor core powering this place." Said Epic.
Cosmic nodded once again.
"I see. What's your point."
"No point really, just pointing out."
Snake looked at the map while the mechanics slowly walked towards the squad and the bunch of people. They were carrying many supplies.
"We have found all the supplies we could in this room." Said one mechanic.
"That should be enough for the trip back to base." Said Cosmic.

Several of the mechanics in the back glared at the supplies, then at the people surrounding them..then at the squad.

Cosmic turned to the squad.
"Looks like were ready to head home people." Said Cosmic smiling.
The squad cheered...
"Alright, let's get moving." Said Snake.
"We can leave through the tunnel we came in. Shouldn't be a problem."

Suddenly, a loud bang hit one of the doors...then another bang hit another.
Cosmic stared at the two doors.
"We've got to move. The Beings have arrived! Quickly squad, get the people out the base through the tunnel. I'll stay here with Snake too block off the Beings just in case they brake through.

The people started running towards the tunnel, heading out in pairs and in single file.
They were out in a matter of minutes.
"They're all out sir!" Yelled Epic.
"Ok! Were coming!" Yelled Cosmic.
One of the doors was starting to get huge dents in it.
"Let's go guys."

They ran through the tunnel then quickly gathered around the hole up top.
"Ok squad, see that big boulder over there? We're all going to push it and block off this entrance. We'll need some of everyones help here."
Everyone nodded and immediately ran to the boulder...
"Ok, one...two...three...push!"
The people pusehed....the rock moved....inch by inch they moved the boulder towards the hole which was about five feet away...
"Harder! We need to push harder!"

They were one foot away from the hole when suddenly they heard a huge, loud sound that came from the hole...
"The door! The Beings have broken down the door! Quickly! Push the rock now!"
The bunch pushed.....almost there!.......YES! The rock was close enough now that it settled into place on top of the hole...and just in time too...for before the rock settled, Cosmic had spotted about four Beings running up.
Low moans were beneath the boulder, but they were muffled.
Cosmic wiped his brow.
"Ok squad...let's move out."
Everyone nodded and headed back towards the corvette....

They got to the corvette about a half hour later. Cosmic punched in the security code and the door opened with ease once again. The squad helped the people get into the corvette....Epic was placed inside first to show them the supply room so that they could stay there for the trip. In single file, the people got in pretty fast.
After the last of the mechanics got in, Cosmic let Snake in, then himself...and locked the door, air tight.
He walked to the Bridge and saw Jedi sitting in a seat with the Moff right beside him.

"How are you guys doing?"
Jedi nodded.
"Pretty good sir. The Moff and I were having a friendly coversation about what it's like being in command...the highest in command that is."
Cosmic chuckled...
"Well, continue then. The squad and mechanics are back..we've sealed the Beings hole so that they cannot get out...yet...we've also rescued twenty people from the stasis cells...they will come with us back on our journey.
Jedi nodded.

Cosmic got to the center of the bridge...Raz, Montys, and Kyp were on the Bridge as well...
"Ok, let's let those mechanics do their job so we can leave.."

Kyp was on the Bridge, handling the Tactical Consol and the Shields.
"We'll be in the planet's orbit within a few minutes sir."
"From there, it should be smooth sailing all the way home." Said Cosmic, smiling.
The Moff sat next to him, watching the planet's surface getting further and further away from them.

Raziel was at the communications consol, ready to tell VE base that it's the Raiders squad, in orbit, and not just some ordinary NI troops ready for a bombardment.

As soon as they were in the planet's orbit, Cosmic got up and went to the onboard comlink.
"Ladies and gentlemen, mechanics, and Squad, this is Sergeant Major Cosmic speaking from the Bridge of the enemy corvette, that I have decided to call Thrawn. This ship will get us home...I want to congradulate my squad on such a wonderful, and successful rescue, and thankful for the NI mechanics that had miraculously appeared in a malfunctioning pod...they have repaired our engines to "full steam". Today is a great day people...a day that is so glorious...a day of success."

Everyone on the Bridge started clapping...so did the rescued civilians and the other squad members....the mechanics, however, stood in the engine room, silent....

Cosmic sat back down into his new chair and looked at Epic at the helm.
"Take us home." Said Cosmic.
Epic smiled then nodded.
"Yes sir...glad to."
Epic was about to push the button to make them go into a fast speed, but suddenly, he heard a warning beeping sound...a red light was flickering in front of him.
Cosmic opened his closed eyes and looked at Epic.

"What's the matter?!"
"Sir, the engine core is shutting down. We're losing power. In about fifteen seconds, we'll be dead in the water."
"Can you stop them from here?"
"No sir."
"Montys is guarding them?"
Epic nodded.
"Montys, come in over."
"Yes sir?"
"Montys, apparently the mechanics have shut down the engine core...do not go into that room until Kyp and Raziel get down there. Repeat, wait for backup."
"Copy that."
"Epic, I want you to try and block off any other systems that they might try to shut down."
"Yes sir."
"Good, I'll see what I can do from one of these consols."

Raz and Kyp got to Montys, and they all got ready to fire....Raz slowly attempted to open the door...no go.
"Cosmic, the have sealed the door..it's locked..there's no way in."

"Sir, they're tampering with envirmental controls...they've also shut down the heating system to the Bridge..it's gonna get cold in here if we don't do something....."
Cosmic thought then took a deep breath.
"Raz, get the plasma cutters...and cut down that door...we've got to stop them...they've shut down heating in here."

"Yes sir."

"Sir! They've decreased life support throughout the ship except the engine room. They've also shut down the heating in the Detentionary as well...no wait...throughout the entire ship except engineering..."
"Can they do all that through engineering??"
"Yes."
"Crap."
"Raz hurry! They've decreased life support throughout the ship! You must get to them fast!"

The Mechanics had their pistols ready to fire.

Raz motioned with his head to look near the engine core. . . No one.
Raz got a little closer when suddenly....
BOOM! ZWWWWWWWIP!
The sight and sound of laser blasts coming from their pistols were aimed at Raz. Raziel quickly jumped out of the way and fired back.
"HOLD YOUR FIRE MECHANICS! YOU'RE OUTNUMBERED ON THIS SHIP! GIVE IT UP!"
"NO! YOU'VE STOLEN OUR SHIP AND WERE HERE TO RECLAIM IT!"
"Then you'll die within it." Said Raziel.
Raziel heard the voices and the source of where they came from...behind a huge machine that gave them quite good cover.
"They have their location in an ingenious place, Kyp." Said Raz. "We can't shoot at them without having the risk of it hitting the engine core and the whole ship exploding."
"We'll have to somehow get their weapons away from them."
"That'll be a trick." Said Montys.

On the Bridge, Cosmic was lying on the floor, so was everyone else, trying to save their energy. Sitting upright would take too much of that.
"Cosmic to Raz, come in over."

"Raz here."

"Raz, you need to increase life support throughout the ship...were sufficating in here. . . Hurry!"

Raziel turned to the rest of the people with him...Kyp and Montys heard what was said from Cosmic.
"Let's hurry guys."
Kyp squinted his eyes and saw that one of the mechanics' arm was in the open...just a bit.
"Raz," whispered Kyp.
"I see an arm of one of the mechanics. I can blast it, I know I can!"
Raz got closer to Kyp.
"Kyp, we can't do that because we risk getting the engine core blown!"
"But I know I can do it! It's the only way! They'll try and help the injurred mechanic and while they're doing so, we can quickly take control of the situation."
Raz nodded.
"Ok, fine..you just better be a good shot."
Kyp nodded.
Kyp then took aim....
It was a little bit more difficult without a sniper scope..but Kyp was confident that he could do it....
Aimed.....fired.

The blast flew through the air, went underneath a metal pipe, over another, went through so many obsticals then finally....

"AAWWW! MY ARM!" Yelled the mechanic, bringing his arm close to his chest."
"Aaah! It hurts so much!"
"Wait...we have nothing to rap it up with...wait..your clothes....hey, start ripping the arm sleeve from his clothes...then rap it around the wound."

The Raiders quickly took action and ran around the engine core, their rifles in front of them with their arms poised and fingers ready at the trigger.
A mechanic saw them rushing over and quickly took aim...this time at Kyp....fired.
Kyp quickly ducked and the blast hit the wall....with some dials on it...the wall started emitting lots of sparks...luckily it was nothing vital.
Kyp fired back and hit the firing mechanic in the chest..he died instantly.
Kyp and Montys quickly took aim at the rest of the mechanics. They dropped their pistols and Raziel walked over and took the pistols away.
"Ok, seems like you're going to have to do a little bit of explaining here." Said Raz.
Kyp quickly got to the envirmental and life support controls and increased them back to normal levels.

"Ok mechanics! You are going to work super hard because you're friends are coming! And if this ship blows, you're gonna blow with it! So get those engines repaired NOW!"
The mechanics nodded and quickly began working faster.

Cosmic was running to every consol, checking, double checking, and rechecking again for anything usefull or interesting.
"What kind of corvette is the NI one?" Asked Snake.
"NI Class one Warship Corvette, sir. Same as ours."
"Then we must be able to fire back in two hours as well." Said Snake, looking at Cosmic.
"Ya. Listen, here's the plan, they will undoubtably hail first, try to make any contact before attacking. As soon as they make a hail, we will let one of the mechanics speak, and telling them that everything is ok, but they had some engine trouble so they were fixing it. They'll undoubtably ask where the senior officers are, at that point, we'll attack while their shields are down and their weapons powerless."
Snake nodded.
"Great idea. Did you have a mechanic in mind?"
"No. Just select one."
Snake nodded.
Cosmic turned to Jedi.
"I want you to make sure that shields and weapons are ready at all times. Is that clear?"
"Yes sir."
"I want to be able to fire as soon as were in position. Now, lets get things ready."

"Cos, I have chosen a mechanic and he is prept for the task. Here he is. I have made him come directly to you for more orders."
Cosmic nodded.
Cosmic motioned the mechanic to come...
"Ok, I want you to say EXACTLY what I wright down on this piece of paper when that ship comes...got it?"
The mechanic nodded.
"Ok..good."

Cosmic began wrighting on the piece of paper what the mechanic was going to say.

"Ok, Snake, we will make this audio only, we'll also say that we've been attacked by an unknown alien race and that the viewscreen was damaged as well...we'll say that we were lucky to survive."
Snake nodded.
"You think they'll buy the 'attacked by unknown alien' thing?"
"We have no choice. There isn't enough time to make up something better."
"Yes we do." Said Snake.
"We'll say that a Vast Empire scout ship came and intercepted the corvette and fired on us, the ship was damaged but we destroyed the scout."
"Perfect, Snake..Good thinking!"
"Thanks."
Cosmic began writing some more on the piece of paper, he then handed it to the mechanic. The mechanic was reading over it.
Cosmic walked over to Snake.
"I want this mechanic to stay on the Bridge. He might spread stuff along and might jeopordize the ploy."
"I understand."
"Good man."
Cosmic then walked back to the mechanic who was done reading. Cosmic took back the piece of paper and put it into the little area in his belt where the gas granade was.

"Sir, the mechanics say that they will be done with the engines in forty-five minutes."
Said Raziel.

Cosmic shook his head.
He looked to Snake.
"That's a fifteen minute window." Said Snake.
"Hardly enough time to get into a fast speed and get away from the ship. The ship would be able to fire one long distance shot."
"A long-distance torpedo?" Asked Snake.
Cosmic nodded.
"Jedi said that this ship had one. I suspect that the other ship would have one too because it's of the same class."
Cosmic turned back on his comlink.
"Raz, that's not enough time. Make them get down fifteen minutes less than that and we'll be ok."

"Yes sir..." Raziel turned to the mechanics.
"Ok guys, you're going to have to work your butt off now!"
Kyp and Montys were looking down at them.
The mechanics took a deep breath and started working harder and faster....

Raz was at the helm and Jedi still at the tactical consol.
Jedi yawned.
Raz noticed.
"Hold in there Jedi. Just wait fifteen minutes, then you can hit the sack for a little bit. We're all tired. There is no doubt that some of us are even fatigued a little."
Jedi nodded.
"Poor Cos, he was injurred. Heh, of course, he's a strong man. He can take it. We were in an almost impossible position with those Beings everywhere. We all worked hard. We're all tired."
Jedi nodded.

One of the mechanics turned to Snake.
"We'll be done in ten more minutes sir."
Snake nodded.
Snake decided to keep himself awake by staring at the engine cores brilliant blue/white colors moving around. The mechanics were repairing the panels on the sides of the engine core with great speed and no hesitation.
Raz leaned over to Snake to whisper, making sure the mechanics didn't hear them.
"When we get back to VE base, we could send these mechanics into the Engineering Corps! They could do a lot of things for the ships and stuff in there."
Snake nodded but then sighed.
"They're loyal to NI still, however."
Raz nodded.
"Loyalty is a huge thing." Said Snake.
"It can be very powerful at times too."
"Dying for something like your country or planet...very loyal..."

Cos and Epic woke up from their "catnap" suddenly because something shook the ship. "Jedi, Snake what has happened while we were asleep?" asked Cos. Jedi was looking out of the window when Cos came out with snake and noticed the ship had gone into an asteroid field. "Cos I am afraid our jump to hyperspace may be delayed a little bit." Jedi said. "Why" Cos asked. Just then the whole corvette shook with a terrible tremor. "That's why! replied Jedi
"We had put the ship on auto-pilot, causing our ship to go into an asteroid field, and we can't risk making the jump to hyperspace until we come out of it. The nava-computer reports that it is four miles wide."
Cos nodded. "In the meantime Epic, why don't you take the helm and get us out of this Asteroid mess!!" Cos said. "Will do, Cos sir!" replied Epic, "I should have us out of here in no time!"
"Well we will still have to try to keep the corvette from blowing." said Snake. "Yea, but now we have to maneuver around the Asteroids as well protect the ship." Replied Jedi, then after a long pause said "This isn't going to be easy" Cos nodded. "Just do what you can" he replied.
"Understood" Snake said. "Oh boy, here we go" Jedi said uneasily.

Cosmic watched as the ship menouvered passed the asteroids...
Cosmic then turned to Snake.
"Go tell the others to sleep right now. We'll wake them whenever we need them if it's before fifteen minutes. I want them very alert when that ship comes."
Snake nodded.
"Yes sir."
Snake went down to the engine room to alert the eager troops to of sleep awaiting them.

Cosmic looked at the view screen...suddenly, a small asteroid hit the ship.
The ship rocked...and shook!

"Damage report!"
Yelled Cosmic.
"We have levels one and to without oxygen...the oxygen has been sucked out...there's a small hole."
"Seal it off!"
"The forcefields aren't working!"
"Crap."
"We need the mechanics to get down there!"
"There are no space suits!"
"Then one of us will have to get down there! We can't go into hyperspace with that hole sucking everything out!"
Cosmic nodded.
"Very well. I'll do it."
"You can't do it sir! You're our SL! We need you!"
"I'll explain the situation to one of the mechanics, they'll tell me what to do."
Cosmic stared at the viewscreen one more time, then got suited up.

In less than three minutes, Cosmic was suited up and on his way to the breached decks.
"I've got the instructions in my head. There should be a manual level for the forcefield to go on. It's not going to be easy though." Said Jedi.

Cosmic looked at the turbolift for a second..them stepped inside..
"I hope this thing still works."
Fortunately, it did!
Cosmic went down to the breached decks...
"Sir, you'll have to do this pretty fast! You're stormtrooper suit won't hold very long against the space vacuum! It wasn't made for that!"
"I know! What I need is a Space Troopers suit."
Cosmic saw the turbolift door open...his helmet still had a lot of blood on it, but not enough for him to not see what he was doing.
Cosmic walked onto the breached deck and saw the hole...it was two feet wide and four feet long.
Cosmic looked around.
"Sir, you will have forty seconds to find that level before your suit goes balistic."
"Understood."
Cosmic searched but couldn't find it!
Cosmic walked around...looked on the walls and ceilings..nothing.
"Sir...twenty seconds.."
Finally, he looked on the floor...found it! Cosmic bent down to grab the lever..
"Ten seconds.."
"His oxygen was getting low...he was having trouble breething...
"Come on Cosmic!" He said to himself..encouring himself.
"I can do this!!"
He grasped the lever and pushed it into the opposite position...a forcefield immediately spread across the wall and oxygen was filling the room up.
Cosmic breathed a sigh of relief...
"Oh God...Thank you God!"
Said Cosmic slowly..
"Level 1 breach repaired." Said Cosmic
"Great job, Cos." Said Jedi.
"Just one more."

"Sir, you have fifty seconds to get to that lever."
"Understood."
Cosmic quickly got to the top of the lift and started climbing down the little ladder-like bars.
He saw the deck just ten feet beneath him...

"Forty-five seconds."

Cosmic quickly went down the stairs and opened the sealed deck doors by a panel next to them.
The doors slid open and a huge hole in the wall greeted him....the stars were beautiful, but now wasn't the time to be thinking of them.

He looked on the ground and found no lever.

"Thirty seconds."

Cosmic looked on the other side of the room....Bingo! Cosmic started running towards it....of course, running across a room was almost impossible without the debris. It was like running through water almost. But as soon as he got a decent push, he started floating towards it.

"Twenty seconds."

Cosmic reached the lever and tried pulling it down to make the forcefields appear.....no budge. It was stuck!
Cosmic started banging on it....hitting it wiht his fists...

"Ten seconds."

Time was running out!
Cosmic yelled out a cry and then hit it as hard as he could.....he then pulled it down.....

"two seconds."

He pulled it down all the way and the forcefields appeared and covered the hole. Oxygen was entering the room by the vents on the ceiling...

Cosmic breathed a sigh of relief.
"Cosmic to Bridge. The two decks have forcefields online. Breech is secure."

"Understood...good job sir."

"Thanks. I'm on my way back now."

Satisfied, Cosmic walked back to the turbolift door and started climbing the steps all the way back to the Bridge.

BOOM! The ship shook and Cosmic nearly fell of the edge.
"Report!" Yelled Cosmic through the comlink.
"Sir," Said Jedi. "A small asteroid, too fast to outrun, has just rammed into our engines."
Cosmic sighed and moaned.
"And-"
"Don't tell me." Said Cosmic.
"We can't get into hyperspace."
Jedi nodded.
"Engines are out..."
Cosmic shook his head.
"We wouldn't have made it into hyperspace anyway with this asteroid belt here."
Jedi nodded.
Epic, Raziel, and Montys woke up.
"What happened?" Asked Montys.
Cosmic listened on his Comlink.
"Asteroid hit the engines. Were dead in the water right now."

They all sighed.

Cosmic comlinked Snake, who had just waken up and started his guarding shift.
"Snake."

"Yes?"

"Get a mechanic out there right now to see what damage has been done. Go with him. I'll send Epic, Raz, and Montys back to the engine room."

"Understood."

Cosmic waited for the bad news....

"What is it sir?" Asked Jedi.
"The one mechanic!" Said Cosmic, and turned around. He saw the mechanic that was on the Bridge, sitting in a chair.

"You! You got your lines right?!" Said Cosmic roughly.
The mechanic nodded slowly.
Cosmic turned to Jedi.
"Remember the old plan? The enemy corvette will hail us, the mechanic's voice will respond, he will be reading from a paper I wrote down with what he's supposed to say. He will say that we've been attacked by a VE fighter buy was destroyed...and that the corvette suffered some engine and viewscreen damage...then, we'll purposely cut off the transmission....then open fire with their shields down...we'll target their weapons systems so they can't fight back...then we'll fire the onboard Ion Cannon to disable the ship for ten minutes. We will then dock with the ship and transfer ourselves onto that ship..."
Jedi nodded.
"A very well conceived plan, but what about the squads on the ship?"
"We've got the firepower to out fire them. We have two heavy repeaters and three repeaters.."
"Three repeaters?"
"Ya.. I found them in the supply room..they were in a crate under two crates."
Jedi nodded.
"We'll take the enemy by surprise. They won't know what's coming at them."
"We will have to take out their communications array too." Said Jedi.
Cosmic shook his head.
"No. We can't do that. We have to use that communications array to tell VE base that were not the enemy when we get into orbit of the planet."
"But we have the high risk that they will send for help!" Said Jedi.
"I know that they Will The thing is, we will be long gone before they come here to try and destroy us."
Jedi agreed.
"Shouldn't take us no longer than ten minutes to get out of this asteroid belt."
Cosmic nodded....
Cosmic's comlink opened...it was Snake.

"Sir, I just realized that the mechanic will not be able to check out the engines from outside..he has no suit! And I don't even have a good enough protection! We won't be able to go outside!"

Cosmic nodded.
"Understood. Our plan to use the mechanic to speak to the enemy will commence. We have it all planned in here. There are three repeaters in the supply room. Get them, bring myself one, Raz one, and Epic one. We will split into teams as before...then we will board the ship for takeover."

"The passengers?"

"They will stay onboard this ship until the enemy ship is secure and ready for transfer."

"Understood."

Meanwhile on the NI Corvette...

"Sir!" Someone said to the ship's captain.
"I noticed an explosion from the ship that will be boarding us, and it appears that they tried to fire at us but couldn't!"
"There must be someone else on board besides the mechanics" said the captain."Whoever they are let them try to board, have a crew ready to kill once they get onboard"
"Understood Sir! They won't board the ship and LIVE!We will be ready for them!"

The ship slowly docked with the enemy NI ship.
Cosmic wondered why they didn't fire back at them, since they obviously knew that they nad tried to fire.

Cosmic looked at Jedi and saw Jedi nod at him.
"All set sir. We have docked."
Cosmic nodded.
"Very good. Raz, guys we need to get moving. Get the guns ready."
Cosmic motioned for Jedi to follow him. Cosmic walked to the rest of the Raiders in the engine room, with the weapons.
Cosmic looked at his squad, a little fatigued from all that has happened.
"I'm sorry that things have gone as planned. Let's stay alive just a little bit longer fellas. . . just until we get home! Then you guys can sleep like babies."
The Raiders nodded.
Cosmic picked up the three repeaters.
"We will split into teams. Me and Jedi will be one team, Raz, Kyp and Epic on another team. Montys and Snake will be the other team."
Said Cosmic, giving Snake a repeater, then Raziel once.
"I have a bad feeling about this."
Said Raziel.
Cosmic nodded.
"They didn't fire...why?" Asked Snake.
"I suspect they have a plan for us when we board or something..keep on your toes..."
Cosmic bent down and grabbed a piece of torn metal.
"What's that for?"
"Safety precautions." Said Cosmic.
"I don't have time to explain...let's move."
Cosmic quickly walked to the Detentionary Supply Room and saw the passengers.
"I'm sorry for the holdup, but we are now going to board the enemy Corvette. I have here three pistols with me that I have taken from the mechanics...I want three of you to guard them...who here has any Military expierance?"
Three young men raised their hands.
"We were in the same Batallion when the NI attacked us in ships from space. We were on a salvaged vessel, bringing it back to base for science experiments, then the NI warships came...we were the only survivors. We want payback."
Cosmic nodded and handed them each a pistol.
"What I need from you right now is to guard those mechanics...don't let them touch anything! Got it?"
They nodded.
"Good...go to the engine room and guard."
They nodded and where on their way.
Cosmic walked back to the Raiders.
Cosmic looked at Jedi and nodded to the rest of the squad...
"Let's go."

They opened the door that lead to the other ship...they did not enter though..Cosmic brought out his piece of metal and through it into the enemy ship....the metal landed hard and made a loud noise...suddenly, weapons fire appeared...
Cosmic nodded...Now was the time to strike!

"What the heck!?" Yelled a NI guard who had been shooting...
He looked down and saw some movement...
"Hey Yo-"
BOOOM!
He was shot dead....Cosmic fired at the two guards in front of him, then took cover...Jedi fired next...shooting down three more guards from around the cornor...
Snake quickly took his team forward and into the ship...Cosmic's team went next, then Raziel's. They quickly took cover and had their guns poised...
Cosmic looked at the rest of the squad..
"Here we go."

With that, the teams moved out...

Cosmic and Jedi watched the other teams leave before they started themselves.
Jedi was armed with the standard Stormtrooper Rifle and Cosmic the repeater. Cosmic and the rest of the team decided to leave the two heavy repeaters by the door that they entered from, therefore no one will really find them and they're there for extra ammo.
Cosmic and Jedi walked through some corridors, then stopped by the sound of voices and heavy footsteps.
Cosmic and Jedi nodded, they decided to catch the enemy by surprised...
They quickly turned the cornor, Jedi kneeled while Cosmic standing.....they fired...
They squad of five went down fast with Jedi's stormtrooper rifle and Cosmic's heavy repeater. They quickly jogged towards the next corridor...and did the same technique all the way towards the bridge....they knew this tactic would soon end as the enemy would send larger squads....but they did what the could and fast...

Snake and Montys ran to the engine room...
They heard guards...a lot of them...jogging-like footsteps were heard.
Snake nodded to Montys and they did the same tactic as Cosmic and Jedi.
The enemy was being shot to pieces...one trooper, however, managed to get cover behind a corridor and started firing back...Snake shot the repeater.....until the enemy was shot dead.
Snake nodded to Montys and they ran further.
The engine room was no more than three hundred feet away now....they knew that guards were going to guard the door so they walked.

Raziel, Epic, and Kyp ran to the Communications room. They saw the door. Kyp pressed his ear against the door..
"Raz, I hear guards coming...towards the door!" Whispered Kyp..
Raz nodded and motioned everyone to step aside...their guns poised at the door..
The door swung open and the team fired a volley of shots...the troopers were shot down...the communications people saw the team and quickly attempted to send a message...but it was too late! Kyp, Epic, and Raz shot each communicator. They searched the room...clear.
Raz turned on his comlink to all squad members.
"Cosmic, communications room is clear. Mission objective completed."

"Excellent work, Raz. Good job team! All teams report when done!"
Raz turned to the team he was with.
"Good job fellas! Were going home!!"
THe team couldn't hold it anymore. They yelled with victory and triumph!
"OH YA!!" Yelled Epic.
"Were GOING HOME!" Yelled Kyp...
Raziel laughed aloud..

Cosmic and Jedi saw the turbolift to the Bridge....
Cosmic turned to Jedi..
"You ready for this, Cos?"
"Always!"

"Man..you guys are making great progress! It's only been ten minutes too! Great job! I assure you! You guys can ALL sleep while on this trip! I'll make sure that the three military experienced passengers help me guard the NI personel. Great job."

Snake turned to Montys and gave him a thumbs up.
"Were goin' home."

Jedi and Cosmic looked once again at the Turbolift..then started walking towards it.
They both got in and Cosmic pressed the button to get to the Bridge.
Cosmic looked and Jedi.
"Here we go."
The turbolift stopped and the doors opened....

Cosmic quickly ran towards the tactical consol and shot the tactical officer.
Jedi ran along side with Cosmic, shooting guards.
As soon as they were both on the Bridge...Cosmic started firing at guards...
Jedi aimed and fired at the captain....bullzeye!
The captain fell dead to the floor.
Cosmic quickly jumped up and ran and fired at the same time...dropping two other guards...there was one more left...he was hiding behind a consol, as cover for himself as he fired...
Jedi quickly did a summersault-like flip on the ground and fired.
The guard fell dead.
Cosmic yelled out to the officers.
"Don't move!"
THe officers didn't move.
Jedi quickly walked towards them and yelled, "Stick your hands up and spread your legs immediately!"
The officers did so.
Jedi checked them.
"They're clean."
Cosmic nodded.
"Go stand in that cornor now."
Ordered Cosmic.
The officers did so in a straight line...Jedi watched them carefully.
Jedi then took the helm.
Cosmic turned on his comlink.
"All teams listen up...Bridge is secure!"

A great cheer rang out througout the engine room and communications room.
Jedi and Cosmic chuckled on the Bridge.
"Coordinates set for Vast Empire Base, sir."
"Good."
Cosmic then walked towards the door in which they assaulted the ship from...he walked towards the other ship and walked towards the three military-experienced people..
"Go ahead and go on the other ship..it's secure. Take these prisoners into the Detentionary on the other ship. I'll get the rest of the passengers."
"Yes sir."
And they walked off, escorting their prisonors.
Cosmic walked to the detentionary and opened the door.
Startled cries rang out for just a second.
"The other ship is secure...were heading home! Follow me."
A great cheer rang in the Detentionary.
Cosmic lead the people to the exiting door and pointed to the other ship.
"Make yourselves at home over there..."
The people nodded and left.
Cosmic then walked towards the Bridge..there was one last thing he had to do....

Cosmic heard the turbolifts hum come to a stop and the doors flew open...the Bridge appeared before him.
Cosmic walked to the Captains chair and started the self-destruct sequance.
A computer-woman voice came onto all intercoms.
"Self destruct sequance activated."
Cosmic set the time to self destruct.
"Self destruct in one minute."
Cosmic smiled and left to the turbo lift.

The turbolift doors opened and he quickly got out and ran to the open door to the other ship.

"Self destruct in thirty seconds."

Cosmic ran to the Bridge of the other ship and nodded to Jedi.
"Let's get as far away from here as possible...I've set the self destruct sequance on the other ship."
Jedi nodded and doublechecked the coordinates.
"Ready sir."
"Let's go."
Jedi got the hyperdrive systems online and engaged them.

The ship flew quickly into hyperspace...stars were zooming passed them in a blur.

The enemy corvette, that once suited the Raiders exploded in a million tiny pieces just seconds after the departure of the other corvette...it's pieces of metal will float in space forever...

Cosmic turned to Jedi.
"ETA?"
"With this speed, one half hour."
Cosmic nodded and smiled.
Cosmic then turned on the ships intercom.
"Raiders squad, you may now sleep wherever you please. We will be home in one half hour. Great job guys! I'm really proud of you...we've accomplished a very hard mission."

One half hour later....
The NI ship was in orbit of the planet that the VE base was on.
Raziel got onto the communications station.
"VE base, this is the Raiders reporting from the orbiting NI corvette. This is not the enemy, repeat, this is not the enemy. This is Squad three, Raiders. We are coming in for landing over."
"Uh roger that, Raiders. Please submit acceptance code."
Raziel did so.
"Acknowledged. Welcome home!"
Raz turned on the comlink to Cosmic.
"All set sir."

"Good job. Jedi, take us in."
Jedi nodded and happily did so.

The ship got closer and closer to the surface of the planet....all the landing gear was down and it made a very slow descent......Touchdown.

Mission: Success

The Squad Saluted Cosmic, for a success, victory, and no casualties. For a perfect mission completed.

Cosmic saluted back and grinned happily...

This was HIS squad...HIS squad made the mission a success. He couldn't have done it with out them...

Cosmic nodded to the standing Raiders. The Raiders then followed Cosmic out of the Ship and outside.

"Were home." Said Epic.
"We sure are." Kyp said.
"Make yourself comfortable boys...were finally home...Don't forget your discipline though." Said Cosmic smiling.
"You know, I never thought that being stuck in the Barracks would feel so good." Said Montys.
"Hehe..Ya, now that you come to think of it: Barracks, home of the Beds." Laughed Kyp,

Cosmic stopped the people right in front of the ship and asked them to sit down while he ordered Raz and Jedi to get some water and some rations.

Once done, Cosmic smiled once again to his squad.
"Were home..let's wait here for more orders." Said Cosmic.
The squad nodded and agreed.

The squad nodded and followed Cosmic to the debriefing room.

They walked passed some VE tents and a command base, and many other officers, vehicles, and the heat of the sun.
Cosmic finally got to the simulator shut down switch and pressed it.
The simulator shut down with a slow hummmmmm

Cosmic nodded in satisfaction as everything turned off, everything was dark. He walked through the door with his squad following him and walked towards the debriefing room.

That day wasn't so bad, in the 80's. Cosmic felt happy to be out of that simulator and back to reality. Cosmic saw the debriefing room up ahead and nodded to the squad happily.

"Here we are people," said Cosmic, opening the debriefing room door.
They all walked in and sat at the debriefing table, awaiting Colonel Anakin and his remaining orders.
