The High Council was holding another weekly meeting. Many good reports of activity were being announced as well as a few complaints. Corporal Fury unlocked his knees to let some blood flow back in to his feet. He had forgotten about locking his knees and his feet were yelling at him for it. Although he had to stand at attention, he was not forced to listen. His mind wandered from one side of his head to the other and back again until he was awoken from his daydream by a jab in the back from PFC Yillamien. Everything came back into focus and he saw that everyone was staring at him. As a reflex, Fury checked his fly, but saw that it was closed. He then heard Captain Talon repeat, "Corporal Fury, please step forward." Fury's face turned as bright red as his new armor as he walked up the long pathway up to the podium where Talon was waiting for him. When he reached the front, he took off his helmet and stood at attention, waiting. Talon smiled and said, "Corporal Fury, for your hard work as a trooper and acting squad leader in the absence of Snake, and for setting the example of all the troopers around you; you are hereby promoted to the rank of Sergeant. Congratulations, Sergeant Fury." When he had finished, Talon handed Fury his Sergeant pins and saluted him sharply. Fury's jaw dropped open and he quickly snapped it back shut as he received his pins and returned the salute. The entire auditorium broke into an applaud as Fury walked down the steps of the platform and returned to position in formation. --------------- I would like everyone to congratulate Sergeant Fury. =c) ------------------ IP: 64.45.136.20 |
