I read this on a boring CNN political message board on Election 2000. It is rather amusing: When an American General was visiting a British regimental mess during the Second World War, they walked past a glass case and in it was an old torn American battle flag. The British officer said, "We won this flag in the Battle of Bunker Hill, and as you can see, we still have it." At that the American General replied, "Yes, and we still have the hill."
