Fury was looking at the interior wall of the shop front. Beside him were Talon and TJ. All three were dumbfounded. Finally, the ASP-7 droid stopped painting and looked equally befuddled as it looked for the paint supply the trio had moved. TJ looked down at the buckets at their feet and at the fuchsia wall and then spoke up, "You guys did know that this model of droid was color-blind. Right?" Fury shrugged and went over to the pallets on the other side of the room, looking for the proper color scheme. Talon was sorting through a datapad muttering useful comments like, "Who ordered fuchsia and eggplant?" while TJ was instructing the droid to take out trash until the existing paint was dry enough to be given a base coat again. It had been a harried mess getting this office rented and contracts signed, but it looked as if the Vast Empire was about to get a store again...even if it was in a bit too vivid of color at the moment. Fury had just checked that the first order had been sent to the manufacturers. Talon was helping with get the showroom ready for the meager amount of initial goods. TJ was beside himself making sure they didn't do anything illegal, so he was up to his neck in forms and policies. Fury was just doing what he could to not go nuts. It had been a long mess of research, impromptu late night meetings and lots of calculating, but now it looked like the store was about to become a reality. If only they could get people to come and spend their credits. ____________________________________________________________ Yes Virginia, we are bringing the store back to life very soon. However, though a few items have been ordered to be put on the shelves, we would sure like some ideas on what you - the soon to be customers - would actually like to buy from us. I know I've talked to a few on you on Comnet over the past week or so and your ideas are basically what most of the first order is composed of. As for the rest of you, plop down a request and we'll see if we can get it ordered. Be reasonable, be honest, and above all, please be patient if we can't get your item(s) right away. depends on the platoon commander. /me hands Stormie a vibroknife, mirrorshades, two automatic pistols, an ill tempered mutant sea bass, Master Sun's Art of War, three very large bottles of asprin, two very large bottles of fifty year old coruscant scotch, a pass that says "No I don't need to go see the Deathwookiee for career counseling", and finally a tee shirt that says "I am a nuclear power". Before you get excited about lightsabers, I VERY HIGHLY doubt we will sell lightsabers. Back when I had made a store (a long time ago) I had put lightsabers on the stock list that would be checked over by the High people they said something like this... I think before requests are to be made, I think a price range should be given. we don't want to overrun our factories producing stuff members can't purchase. Anakin has a good point. Most small weapons and consumer items cost from about 100-2000 ICs. Vehicles range from about 500-3000 for a speeder, swoop, or landspeeder. Ships WILL cost you...from a couple hundred thousand on up. Please keep that in mind when you ask for stuff. As for TJ's post, there is no way we will sell lightsabers, Mandalorian armor, or anything that specific and unique. While there will be some specialized items, some of it will be restricted to sale to certain people. Case in point, we will eventually turn out a line of modified Sith ships and fighters but the average person won't be able to buy them. Also, we can't just have everbody running around with an AT-AT. So, while we will try to appease everyone's needs, take a look at your bank account and your pay rate and think accordingly to what you can afford. Some items come with a monthly maintenance fee, so if you can't afford the upkeep or crew the ship, etc. - set your sights just a touch lower. Thanks. ------------------ IP: 139.78.56.14 |

So no new hot tub for the Sweetums or a brand new fully automated bar for Dome 8473? While I am sure you don't mean it as a complete and utter insult (unlike others I might mention), I'd like to think that I am competent enough to have thought this through a bit. Besides, there were others involved in the design and re-creation of the store. This is not a lone gunman on acid adventure. Many rules were discussed and conversations had over the past 10-11 months. We did NOT wake up one morning from a really bad drunk and just whip this thing together. But thanks for caring so much. The store is really a credit to the VE! I feel like I am purchasing something to get ordered to my house. In fact, I was ready to fill out the mailing address and billing information when I got to checkout. Oh well, stupid me! Let's see, we still haven't gotten Narm his TIE Crawler. Deathwookie needs rations(blast his diet of living centcient beings). Juggernaughts can't be tipped over as easily as AT-AT's. Glad you all like it. I have some personal RL stuff to deal with, but I promise more items as soon as possible. Still need to come to a decision as to how we'll deal with the squad equipment purchasing issue. Maybe start with a base set (yes Storm Platoon...I'll send COL Anakin something along those lines) and develop an idea from there. As for creatures for food. I think we can work some creatures onto a list for the Deathwookie to munch on...a few slower moving beasts of burden and a nice predator nashtah to be a playful friend perhaps?
