ahem - New Millenium?? That is one year too early I am afraid - considering 2000 is the LAST YEAR of THIS millenium... Christiana, what are you talking about? Rational numbers are those that can be written as decimals, irrational numbers cannot and must be expressed as, for example, fractions. 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 1999, and 2000 are rational numbers, not irrational ones . . . But that's beside the point. The point is, that chances are, the first year was year one. If you start univeristy (or anything, just an example), the first year there is year one - once you finish year one, you've been there for a year. Same with the calander - once you finish year two thousand, you've been counting for two thousand years.
