You are American, I wouldn't expect you to understand

~sings~

It is old but it is beautiful, and it's colours they are fine,
It was worn at Derry, Auchrim, Ennikskillen and the Boyne,
My father wore it when a youth in the bygone days of yore,
And it's on the Twelfth I love to wear the Sash my father wore!

Somehow, my mind keeps thinking of the date the Orangemen triumphed in some battle in Ireland...

Somehow, i am wondering why you took the time to even study that Spart, and/or pay attention when it was being taught, of course i will probably be smacked by Schnapps for not carring about a battle for oranges, but Ireland is still on the planet, so i will give it respect. (where it is due.)

Reminder- Especially to NiskaVel... this is not meant to start another "My country is better" war on the comnet

Bravo Spart, it took some time but yes, the 12th of July is indeed the date when, in 1698, the brave, loyal, dedicated armies of King William of Orange defeated the, uhm, bad guys, at the Battle of the Boyne.

We Ulster types have been known to sing songs about it.

Damn shame he wasn't William of Banana, of course.

Birth defect?

Whaaaaaaaaaat?

Of course, the "Liam" in Liam Neesion is short for "William". The Northern Irish and Glaswegians amongst us will be amused by this.

Of course, they do a lot of drugs in Ballymena. So that could well explain a lot.
